My Approach to Helping

We live in a broken and fallen world. At times life knocks us down and we find it difficult to cope or know what to do. As a counselor it is my job to meet you where you are and together address the concerns you are facing. I work from a Christian worldview and use this as a framework to assist you in evaluating your thoughts, situations, relationships and strengths. Regardless of your religion or faith, it would be my honor to work with you and get you on your desired path.

More Info About My Practice

I have a sincere desire to help individuals who are experiencing excessive worry, anxiety or panic. I am also passionate about helping people with broken and hurting relationships.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

The thought of going to therapy is a little scary for most people. It can feel uncomfortable to talk about what concerns you have. Maybe you are not sure if therapy is right for you. I would ask you to consider how long you have been feeling the way you have, or how long you have been in the situation in which you find yourself; do you really want it to continue? If not, why not try something different? Take the first step, which is often the most difficult, and after that give it at least 5 sessions then evaluate if it is helping you feel better and helping you to gain clarity. Time will go on whether you are making positive moves or staying the same. Why not take the first step? What do you have to lose?

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Many people get concerned that going to therapy means something is really wrong with them. The reality is that we all face difficulties in this life. At times we need an objective perspective to help us find clarity and direction. That is what counseling offers, someone from the outside looking in, someone who specializes in people. Together you can work at finding solutions or steps to take. There is a proverb that beautifully sums this up, "As iron sharpens iron so one person sharpens another."
