My Approach to Helping
I believe that families and teens can work through and survive the difficult teen years. No other developmental stage is more challenging and painful to families and teens themselves. I believe however that families in crisis can heal and overcome in order to be a more cohesive and loving family unit. I believe that family systems are dynamic, evolving, challenging and engaging. I also work well with specific substance use issues, divorce and blended family issues in families. I work with all teens and young adults, especially women.

I also focus on trauma issues, especially in teen girls. I am certified in Structured Sensory Intervention as a model of trauma therapy. As well as cognitive models of resolving trauma.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I love being a therapist because I am able to watch teens, families and young adults grow and learn better ways of coping in their lives. I have seen great success in teens who have overcome trauma, family issues, interpersonal conflicts, anger, and substance issues. Many of the individuals I have worked with have been able to explore and manage their depression, anxiety, impulsive behavior and find purposeful direction in their lives. I have also enjoy working with women throughout the life span who may be struggling with similar issues and I have been able to see the hope in my clients during extreme challenges in their lives.
