My Approach to Helping
I work from a family systems perspective and use a strength-based, solution focused approach to help clients realize their goals. I serve adults, teens, and children and offer individual, couple, family, sand tray and play therapy.

More Info About My Practice
I have been working in the field of marriage and family therapy since 1996; licensed since 2003. I thoroughly enjoy working with clients of all ages and am honored to be a part of so many family stories of positive change. I now have two therapists working in my practice with me. I supervise them both and other MFTs working toward licensure. I am the incoming President of the PA Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (term: Jan 2012 through Dec 2013) and in leadership in AAMFT. If I am not a good fit for you, I am sure to know another therapist who will be.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I have had a lot of success helping people who suffer from anxiety and panic attacks relieve their symptoms in a relatively short period of time. I also find that I am a good fit for a lot of teenagers and young adults, and have helped a lot of families transition into a more loving, respectful dynamic.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

Person to person "fit" is the most important factor. It doesn't matter how many degrees they have on the wall or how many books they have in print, if you don't feel a good connection with them, therapy will be less effective. You want to look for a licensed professional, or a professional working toward licensure under good supervision. Therapy is an investment in your mental health and happiness and you are worth finding someone who is not only a skilled clinician, but someone you feel safe with and connected to.
