My Approach to Helping
My philosophy is to create a sacred space for people to heal. I am that of a trusted guide that helps people find the answers to their questions within themselves. I encourage people to look at and celebrate their positive qualities and be empowered by what is already working for them in their lives. I am compassionate and at the same time honest about how I experience people's challenges. Change requires new and different types of action along with emotional release of trauma and limiting old patterns of behavior and beliefs. I am always present, patient, non-judgmental, and supportive with people.

More Info About My Practice
I offer one hour free phone or in person consultations. I do not accept insurance. However, due to the nature of the experiential therapies and deep work that I facilitate with people, my sessions are 90 minutes in length. The out of pocket fees are $150 for 90 minute sessions. This is double the time of most other therapist's sessions. I also offer sliding scale for people that have real financial challenges.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

The purpose of psychotherapy is to help people find their inner strength to overcome the obstacles that have brought them to psychotherapy. This is done through emotional release work (hypnotherapy, breathwork), and coaching new thoughts and bold actions into their lives to create and manifest different results. Psychotherapy is also about taking personal responsibility to fix what you can and let go and accept what is out of your control. Psychotherapy can make people more self aware in being their own coach and seeking out the support of others who share similar experiences.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

I had numerous struggles with drugs and alcohol 21 years ago and choose alternatives to traditional recovery to get sober and pursue personal growth. I have been in my own therapy process for 20 years and have a tremendous amount of compassion for all the people that I work with. I have also healed panic disorder with myself and worked through many relationship issues. My own learning experiences and failures have allowed me to see what works and what does not. There are many different things that work for each unique individual. I have had to see many different therapists and always am looking for ones that could connect with me and my past experiences. My challenges & triumphs have made me both patient and action oriented.

Theoretical Influences that Guide My Work

Over the years the people in my practice and myself have concluded that integrating hypnotherapy and breathwork with talk therapy accelerates individual healing and tangible positive results. This means psychodynamically healing the issues, negative patterns, and charged energy of the past, and, leaving the past in the past and creating a new possibility and way of being now and in the future by taking bold and different actions.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

Through my experience I have determined that the number one factor in a person changing for the better is based on the relationship between the client and myself, and, listening to and addressing the needs of people. We co-create a personal growth plan that addresses the concerns and goals of the person through this trusted relationship. It is through my compassion, insight, intuition, and open heart that enables me to connect deeply with people to free them up to heal themselves. People find the answers within themselves and I'm just providing them with a little guidance and a flashlight. I inspire and encourage self-empowerment in everything I engage in with my people. My goal is to teach people how to facilitate their own personal growth and change processes through support groups and other psychoeducational learning processes and organizations so they can eventually guide and transform themselves.
