My Approach to Helping
Reva brings a passion to treat each individual as a person, not a diagnosis. The focus of her mission is to assist those she counsels to recognize their value, and to help them to become empowered to become fully alive. She accomplishes this by addressing the problem that creates the problems; that is, the lack of understanding and utilizing the power residing in each person.

Reva's emphasis is using brief therapy techniques, which focuses attention on solutions not problems. A major part of her University training is in Solution Focused Therapy. In addition to this she is also pursuing certification in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and TFT (Thought Field Therapy). Both of these therapies are especially effective for trauma and phobia issues, and are also used to help people move quickly past the negative thinking which sabotages them. Other problems addressed by these treatments are chronic pain management, anger management, and individual and couple communication problems.

Working with people who are experiencing depression, divorce issues, trauma, or chronic health issues, are areas that I have a great deal of experience in, since I sought out special training in these areas.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

We sometimes lose sight of our own talents, gifts, and strengths and become unaware of how we are using those resources to deal with life everyday. Applying the resources that we already have to solve problems, many times takes the perspective of another person. It is a joy and a privilege for me, to listen to people's story and guide them to find their unique solution to their problem. Guiding people to clarify the next action that they would like to take, toward solving their problem, is generally a great deal of help for most people.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

What I love about being a therapist are the people who come in seeking another perspective on their life. It is my belief that every person is unique. I love listening to each person's life story. Assisting people in finding the solution to their problem, by using their own unique strengths and resources is my passion. "Emotional Intelligence which can be described as the ability to manage the emotions of one's self, and of others. This is an area that we all can continue to learn in, which can improve all our relationships with family, friends and even in the workplace. I stay up to date by reading, the latest research on the brain which is available, and is constantly changing. I am passionate about helping people become more "Emotional Intelligent" which can improve all their relationships.
