My Approach to Helping
I understand the courage it takes to ask for help. You have the power to positively transform yourself and your relationships. Clients often tell me that my humor, our tears, and my straight-forward, yet sensitive approach are key to how quickly they feel understood.

I help people live their best possible life by improving their relationships and finding realistic and achievable solutions for life's challenges. I live with the philosophy that today is the only certainty. Living in the present forces us to look at what we cherish, what we fear, and how our actions and behaviors affect not only our own life, but the lives of those around us and the qualities of our relationships.

I believe that you have the power to positively transform yourself and your relationships. We focus on your strengths, realistic solutions, and attainable goals. Looking forward moves you towards the life, relationships, and accomplishments that you want.

My expertise, optimism, and solution-focused work combined with my patients' dedication and passion repeatedly leads to success stories and fulfilled lives.

More Info About My Practice
I specialize in all types of depression (including postpartum) and loss. I treat people with substance abuse and obsessive-compulsive habits. I also help people going through sexual orientation, intimacy, and identity issues as well as life cycle or developmental issues (quarter-life crises, career change/job loss, divorce, etc.)

The first time we meet at my office will not be a regular therapy session. We will use the time to review the required paperwork; for you to ask questions and understand the therapy process; and for us to determine if we are a good fit to continue working together. The key to a secure therapeutic relationship is goodness-of-fit. If, for any reason, either of us decide that we are not a good fit, I will refer you to an appropriate provider(s) whom I believe might be a better fit. If we do decide to continue working together we continue treatment from there. Please note that although the first session is formally the initial consultation, the first three meetings are a time for both of us to determine if our work is going to be long or short-term, and for us to finalize our decision to work together.
