My Approach to Helping
In my practice, I see individuals, couples, and families. Everyone is capable of change, it is just figuring out how to go about it that is the tough part! I get to know each client as an individual and work to understand their personal needs and goals. Using research supported techniques I will get you feeling better as quickly as possible while also taking the time to address underlying issues. Therapy is a place to discover yourself and to build new strengths and resources as well as learn how to tap into the ones you already have.

I have extensive experience helping individuals and their loved ones with problems relating to: Addiction, Abuse, Mood Disorders, Anxiety/Panic, Adolescence, Relationships, Grief and Loss, Communication, Co-Dependency, PTSD, and Stage of Life Issues

Finding the right therapist can be a challenge, it is important to find someone with whom you have a connection. Please call me to set up a free phone consultation or a low cost face-to-face meeting and I'll be happy to answer any questions you have!

More Info About My Practice
I see clients in my office Monday-Friday and schedule appointments between 8am and 7pm. My normal fees are:
$75/individual hour
$100/individual hour and a half
$125/family hour and a half
However, I offer a wide sliding scale for those in need of services at a lower cost and am more than happy to explore more affordable rates with those in need.

My Therapy Focus

The specific focus of my work depends largely on the client(s). I do not think there is any one type of theory or technique that works for everyone so the approach I take with each person is individualized. Having said that, I think it is important to attack every issue on two levels. On one, we will work to reduce or eliminate unwanted symptoms such as sleeplessness, anxiety, drinking/drug use, or hopelessness as quickly as possible so that you feel better. On the other level, we will uncover the issues underlying the symptoms and work to gain deeper understanding so that these symptoms or new ones do not not resurface down the road. While this second task can take time to accomplish, it is often essential for long term healing.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

I believe that any problem an individual, couple, or family has tried unsuccessfully to resolve on their own, can be benefited through therapy. Therapy is not for one type of person or one type of problem. It is help, guidance, and support for anyone motivated to make their life, or a specific situation, better. If you have tried to "fix" something in your life but not gotten the results you hoped for, it does not mean you are weak, stupid, or flawed in some way. It indicates that you may be stuck, like all of us get sometimes, and in need of an outside perspective or someone to help you regain stability, clarity, and control over your life.
