My Approach to Helping
California Psychotherapeutic Resources was founded by Marriage and Family Therapist Patricia McTague-Loft, MS, MFT, DAPA. Patricia's educational background includes a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in marital and family therapy from California Lutheran University and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from Biola University. In addition to holding memberships in several honor societies and professional organizations, Patricia obtains ongoing psychological training, specializations and certifications.

Patricia uses her excellent client rapport and clinical expertise to help clients overcome their struggles. Her professional counseling experience includes work with children, adolescents, couples, individuals and families with a wide range of clinical issues. She implements psychodynamic, family systems, cognitive behavioral and solution-focused theoretical frameworks to her diverse client case-load.

In a positive psychotherapeutic environment, Patricia applies a professional standard of care and personalized attention to specific client needs. Patricia offers three conditions of client treatment: a compassionate approach with empathic understanding, (i.e., walking in the clients’ shoes as they walk in them), unconditional positive regard, (i.e., every human being is worthy of dignity and respect), and congruence (i.e., genuine, authentic, and honest reactions from the therapist).

Patricia utilizes real world treatment plans and a wide array of resources and referrals to ensure that clients receive realistic results. Psychotherapeutic treatment goals include helping clients gain self-awareness so that they may improve interpersonal relationships and resolve problems and life crisis situations in an effective, time sensitive manner.
