My Approach to Helping

I help children and adults develop greater awareness of their thoughts and emotions, while also learning new skills and tools for managing those thoughts and feelings in order to achieve greater peace in relationships and with the Self. The level of awareness we cultivate can be an incredibly healing resource. I provide divorce support to children and families including co-parenting counseling, support for step parents and support for children to adjust to their changing families. I assist adult clients who struggle with relationship issues,depression, anxiety, personality disorders and general life adjustment challenges. My approach to counseling is based on the belief that through increased insight and awareness, clients can be empowered to see and choose differently bringing about greater peace internally and in relationships. I believe in helping clients, regardless of age, develop an intrinsic sense of worth through insight and new skills. I combine 15 years of training and practice in the arts of somatic (body) and emotional awareness with 10 years of traditional training and practice in psychology to help people from ages 2 to 102. Play therapy, relationship counseling, divorce support, parenting and stress management are methods I utilize.
