My Approach to Helping
While I prescribe medication for disorders involving anxiety and depression, I strongly advocate psychotherapy either in combination with medications, or alone, in most situations. I have extensive training in different modes of psychotherapy including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and a more intensive type of therapy called Psychoanalysis. I believe that psychotherapy can help bring about the kinds of lasting changes and satisfaction in relationships that most people are really looking for.
I am a dually board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as both a neurologist and psychiatrist with over 10 years of experience in private practice. I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.
