My Approach to Helping
Kathy Naman, MA, LPC is a woman in her mid fifties with decades of experience and training. The core of that training is in contemplative psychotherapy. Clients have described her as: warm, nurturing, intuitive, grounded.
What does contemplative mean?
When we bring our attention to what troubles our souls and share with another, we discover we are not alone. Our experience is human experience and can be communicated. We can lift up our heads.
When we stir up the courage to communicate our pain, we discover that a core of goodness is our center. The places where we have felt less than or not worthy, can begin to fall into place in a larger context. We can make meaning of our journey.
With this broader perspective, we can begin to move, sometimes baby steps, sometimes leaps.
Kathy's specialty areas include:
depression and mood disorder recovery
traumatic brain injury(tbi) and disability adjustment
life transitions of all colors and shapes

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
There are so few places in our culture where we can be kindly witnessed and invited to reflect on who we are and where we are headed. Therapy is one of those places. A place to be seen, to be heard, to be understood.
