My Approach to Helping
With more than 20 years of combined experience in providing mental and behavioral health counseling to individuals, couples, families, and groups; conducting public and private training on various self-improvement topics including self-image psychology, goal setting, visualization, motivation, communication and negotiation, parenting, coaching, stress and anger management, and worked as an employee assistance program (EAP) counselor for various corporations and organizations, focusing on organizational change model. I am known for having a friendly but assertive character that has earned me a respectable reputation as a very warm, professional and ethical counselor.
I have gained tremendous credibility for my counseling skills and am among the very few Malaysian counselors sought by international clients from the U.S.A., Canada, U.K., France, Italy, Germany, Egypt, Iran, Jordan, Maldives, China, India and Indonesia.
My work has been featured in magazines (eg. Rodale's Men's Health - Issue: April 2008) and aired as the Key Counselor for the Radio & Television programmes (eg. Radio Wanita, TV3's Wanita Hari Ini).
I hold a Masters of Social Science in Psychology (Counseling) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. I specialize in Client Centered Therapy, Reality Therapy, Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and Organizational Counseling.
I am a registered and licensed counselor with The Malaysian Board of Counselors (Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia), and is also a lifetime member of Malaysian Counseling International Association (PERKAMA INTERNATIONAL) and Malaysian Psychology Association (PSIMA). In 2014, I also volunteered a total of 150 hours for both MH370 and MH17 missions, providing psychological support to both MAS caregivers as well as the next of kin of passengers and crew members. I was also called in to conduct debriefing service to crew members of MH2718.
