My Approach to Helping
Are you the parent of a baby or young child with confusing or challenging behaviors?

Would you like to have more joy and enjoyment within your parenting role?

I have been working with babies, young children and their families for more than 15 years. Through both personal and professional experiences I have developed an intimate understanding and appreciation for the many ways that families are created and the unexpected challenges that sometimes occur in early childhood and family life. As a therapist, my goal is to be a resource and coach to parents and caregivers who are seeking to strengthen their connection with their young children and find greater joy within their parenting role and their family during these magical years.

COUNSELING
I utilize a relationship-based approach to address the behavioral, social and emotional concerns of babies and children. I will partner with you to observe and understand your child's behavior and development in the context of your family and community; your child's temperament, health, unique experiences and relationships. My goal is to provide insights, experiences and activities that strengthen your role as your child's best teacher and coach; and to promote healthy interactions, social skills, emotional development and fun.

PARENT COACHING AND GUIDANCE
Sometimes what is needed most is not therapy but a space for you, the parents, to reflect on your child's needs and behaviors as well as your parenting practices. Parent coaching offers an opportunity for you to receive individualized support and strategies to help you support your child's development and to create more joy and connection in your family. Parent coaching sessions can also be useful to enhance the child-parent or family counseling.

INFANT MASSAGE
I am also a certified educator of infant massage (CEIM, Infant Massage USA) and offer infant massage groups and private lessons for parents and their babies. Infant massage is a nurturing parenting practice that promotes bonding; eases digestion, stress and fussiness; and leads to longer and sounder sleep for babies.
