I offer psychotherapy to individuals and families, with young children through adulthood, helping many people change their thinking, and, thus, their feelings, about themselves and their world. Many report improved enjoyment of life and communication with others. With children, I often find play therapy to be most helpful, as play is a "language" they learn before they begin to talk. I work with other professionals as needed. I take particular pleasure in treating depression, and in helping parents learn to change their relationships with a challenging child. Often, when we can change our thoughts, we change how we feel.
I prefer to integrate the emotional with the spiritual, physical, psychological, behavioral and environmental elements that best help the client/families whom I serve. I find that therapy works best when the client and therapist are viewed as partners with equal power (yet differing responsibilities).
I warmly welcome individuals from any faith (or no religious tradition). I specialize in, and respectfully offer, Christian counseling for those who prefer it.
