I offer a warm, collaborative, and relational approach intended to foster personal growth and self understanding for individuals and couples of all cultures and sexual orientations. My therapeutic approach is based on principles of mindfulness and somatic awareness, primarily working with the client's present experience. I strive to help the client understand how their core beliefs and somatic holding patterns have shaped them, identify those which may not necessarily be serving them in the present, and build tools towards being able to influence their present life. My training has focused on experiential, mindful, and body-oriented therapy specifically using the Hakomi method and Formative Psychology. In addition, I integrate tenets of Feminist, Relational, and Humanistic orientations.
My interest in cross-cultural therapy is rooted in my own bi-cultural living experience. My Spanish language skills are of native fluency, and I am available to work with clients both in English and in Spanish, as needed. My experience with issues of multi-culturalism and immigration, both personal and professional, informs my work. In addition, I have facilitated workshops on cross-cultural issues.
