My Approach to Helping
I have been practicing psychotherapy with individuals and couples in New York City for over 20 years. I can proudly say that I have helped hundreds of people heal, grow and change. My goal is to give my clients all the information, tools and counseling they need to find relief from their pain and solutions to their difficulties.
My mission is twofold: I work to enhance and expand people's ability to experience a deeper connection with themselves and others, connection as key to physical and mental health and well-being. Also, through therapy I help people in their desire to close the gap between where they are right now and where they want to be.
I believe that effective therapy brings about growth and change and it occurs in the atmosphere of safety, trust, connection and collaboration. Safety is my first priority, the sessions are confidential and trust is the basis upon which a thrapeutic relationship is built.
My reputation is that I am straight forward without being harsh and give a lot of feedback in the sessions. I work dilligently to find root causes of the problems that bring people to therapy.
I appreciate that starting therapy can be both empowering and frightening. Therefore, it is the client, who sets the pace as we begin. We work as a team to try to gain historical perspective to current difficulties, insight into current issues, confront obstacles and develop coping skills, which will lead to necessary steps, strategies and changes.
More Info About My Practice
My sessions are typically 45 minutes long, although there is flexibility on that depending on client's needs. I offer to submit claims to insurance companies for my patients so they can get reimbursed in a more timely fashion. At this time my fees range from $125 to $175 for a session, depending on client's financial situation.
My office is located in Midtown Manhattan near Grand Central Station.
I can be easily reached by phone or e-mail. I schedule appointments throughout the day and try to accomodate my clients busy schedules.
