My Approach to Helping

Life is not static, but ever changing and evolving. At times change brings with it a sense of excitement and joy, and at other times a turn of events leaves us disappointed, overwhelmed, sad, or disconnected from others and ourselves. Although therapy cannot stop the ups and downs of living it can help you develop new strategies, new perceptions, and new behaviors that transform feelings of self-doubt and despair into resilient feelings of inner strength and fulfillment. My focus is to provide a safe and supportive atmosphere for you to heal emotionally, explore your dreams and values, discover your strengths, and acquire life skills that support you through multiple life shifts and transitions. I believe that we all have the potential to live, grow, and relate to others with openness and joy.

I bring a warm, compassionate, and genuine approach to the counseling relationship and respect and honor the uniqueness of each individual. I first start by listening, and then ask question to help clarify the focus of therapy. Together you and I will discuss options and set goals for the therapy process. Living life with joy and fulfillment is a gift. I look forward to the opportunity of helping you discover your gift.

I believe the comfort of the therapist and client relationship is important to the success of the therapy process. For this reason I offer a free 30 minute consultation for those seeking therapy services.

More Info About My Practice

I provide hypnotherapy services as a means to heal and create the stories we want for our lives. Because all reaction is from unconscious thought, hypnosis offers a way to transform underlying beliefs that may sabotage happiness into thoughts that promote deep and lasting behavioral change for our health and well-being. Hypnosis is safe, calming, and effective for:

-Relaxation and stress reduction
-Performance improvement
-Behavioral change
-Creating healthy habits
-Accessing the creative potential of the unconscious mind
-Healing and self care

In addition, I offer EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which helps resolve current life issues by processing relevant experiences and memories. It is a therapy approach that has been researched extensively and over time has demonstrated successful results. Clients receiving EMDR treatment often end up experiencing positive changes in many aspects of their lives. If you find yourself repeating painful patterns or being faced with similar life issues over and over again, EMDR can help.
