My Approach to Helping

Do you often feel overwhelmed by your emotions and stretched to your limit? Do you feel frustrated in your relationship and keep repeating the same fight over and over again? Maybe you can get a glimpse of what would make you happy, but you just can't seem to make it happen. My goal is to help you become empowered, so that you can break old patterns and find constructive ways to handle life's challenges. My style is interactive and respectful, drawing from different therapy models as well as using Buddhist compassionate awareness.

In Individual Therapy, I help you to lessen the stress and anxiety that make you tense and keep you up at night. I listen to your story as well as teach you skills so that you can start feeling better right away. Relaxation exercises, hypnotherapy, mindfulness meditation, and emotional freedom technique (EFT), are just a few of the methods I use to help quiet your mind and calm your nervous system. You will then be able to access the resources to change what's not working for you. You deserve to feel at ease, be happy, and enjoy your life.

In Marriage/Couples Counseling, you will learn how to stop arguments and talk through those difficult topics. Or for those of you who don't speak up at all, I will help you to say out loud what has been churning over and over again in your mind. I will teach you how to listen and negotiate so that both of you are part of every solution. Doing this will bring you closer together, and you will feel stronger as a couple. As you strengthen this bond, as well as maintain your individual selves, your relationship will become alive and interesting.

As a therapist, I do much more than just listen. I also help you to define and follow through with your goals, help you find ways to overcome self-destructive patterns, and give you support and constructive feedback. I am invested in helping you create a satisfying life and fulfilling relationships.
