My Approach to Helping
I think of therapy as a unique opportunity to share anything you would like with another human being with explicit knowledge that what is shared will remain confidential and held with tremendous respect. Therapy is a process as dynamic and ever-changing as the seasons, yet as dependable and consistent as the rising sun. I tailor my approach to the needs of each unique individual that seeks my counsel. I try to listen twice as much as I speak and I believe that each of us possesses the inherent wisdom to be happy, whole and free. Occasionally, we can lose the path to happiness and require a guide to get back on track. I would be privileged to serve as that guide for you and look forward to doing whatever I can to help.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I love working as a therapist because there is nothing more meaningful to me than having authentic conversations with people about things that matter.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

Research has proven that the client-therapist relationship is the key ingredient for a positive outcome to therapeutic work. There is nothing more important to me than establishing a strong working relationship with those I serve. Clients that work with me experience a warm and caring presence and trust that I am open to hearing what is working and what is not in the context of our ever-changing relationship. I do not believe in espousing a cold clinical approach. I allow the fullness of my heart to enter the therapeutic relationship. Doing so allows those with whom I work to do the same. Healing takes place in positive, caring relationships. Providing others with that type of relationship fuels my passion for the work.
