My Approach to Helping

Let me be a resource for you. Overwhelmed, upset, stuck, anxious, disempowered, hurting? Whether you are interested in short term work with one issue, or a longer relationship, psychotherapeutic support can enable you to reduce your unnecessary suffering. In addition psychotherapy can bring you healing, new perspectives, and empowering self-understanding.For me, the most important aspect of the healing environment is a quality of loving presence and you will find that I give a lot of attention to this. Important ingredients in I find great satisfaction in being a psychotherapist and come to care deeply about my clients. My work with power issues has increased my sensitivity to and awareness of the essential importance of respect, trust, and collaboration in our work together. My clients find their therapy experience to be engaging, deeply and immediately useful, empowering, and fascinating. They look forward to therapy sessions. I use the Hakomi Method as my base. The Hakomi Method integrates the body, mindfulness, and non-violence and is both heartful and powerful. The Hakomi Method is an experiential process. Using techniques for focusing your attention on your present felt experience (such as thoughts, feelings, tensions, images, memories, beliefs), I help you discover and explore how you limit your capacity for relationship, success, clairy, joy, and satisfaction. From this exploration your body responds, problems resolve, spirit lifts, relationships get clearer, life changes for the better. I also bring in other resources such as art, dreamwork, movement, relationship dynamics whenever they could be useful. I have recently trained in a form of trauma work called Brainspotting. I also bring to our sessions, insights, wisdom, depth that come from a broad range of life experience.Do you want to learn how to cope and even thrive in this deeply challenging global and personal environment? This is an important aspect of therapeutic work. To further support you, I have developed a new program called "Cultivating Resilience." Through activating six core themes of resilience, you find emotional sustenance and the skills to refocus, retool, and revitalize yourself.
