My Approach to Helping

My practice is dedicated to providing the highest quality and professionally competent psychotherapy to adults, couples and adolescents with compassion and respect for each client's humanity and individuality. I believe in a collaborative process where we work together to determine what approach will be utilized to give clients the best opportunity to successfully address their concerns. I provide clients with information and education about a variety of treatment orientations for a wide range of problems or challenges. This allows clients to actively participate in an informed manner in choosing an approach that we determine is likely to be the most beneficial.

More Info About My Practice

When beginning a course of psychotherapy with me, clients can expect to be involved in a professional relationship based upon our collaboration that will allow me to experience their psychological and emotional world. It is a relationship where clients can expect to have my undivided attention to assist them in developing a greater understanding and respect for their thoughts and feelings, and to help them find ways to overcome the challenges they face in order to achieve emotional growth and well being.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

The purpose of psychotherapy is to provide assistance to a person who is either suffering in ways that they cannot seem to overcome on their own, or who find themselves unable to obtain the life fulfillment they seek.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

My love and passion for being a therapist and for psychotherapy stems from my core values as a person and my beliefs about the purpose of life in general. It is my belief that living our lives most fully and meaningfully is about the healthy relatedness and connection that can be obtained between people. A large part of this connection can be found when one person's efforts to help another provides growth and fulfillment to both. To be in a position to offer assistance to others in a professionally competent way, is to be incredibly fortunate. In what other way could I possibly spend my time that would provide a greater sense of meaning and enrichment?
