My Approach to Helping
If you are searching for help today because you feel exhausted and hopeless from fighting with your teenager, I am here to help. Maybe you have had enough of "whatever" and door slamming. It's like no matter how much you love and try to connect with that wonderful human being you know your teenager to be, nothing works. I know that this kind of stress can also cause tension between spouses, which makes the situation even harder. What I do is help families understand how the important stuff all healthy teenagers need to do to grow up can cause real problems for a family.
The result of doing this work is that parents, spouses and their teenagers can get past blaming each other and reconnect. The benefit of this work is that families can have the courage and trust to allow their teenager to move toward grabbing onto to the brilliant opportunities for success that life has to offer.
I know reaching out for help can be challenging. Maybe you are really struggling with the thought: "no, we can do this if we just try a little harder". Here's the thing, getting professional help now might help you avoid more serious problems later. Know that I am here, ready to help.

More Info About My Practice
I think it is important that the people I work with know that I love what I do. I know that, as a therapist, I am doing my life's work and am fulfilling my life's path. If what I have said here resonates with you, call me. Let's talk about your questions, concerns, hestitations. Even if we don't end up working together, you will be closer to your answer about what the next step is for you.
Just to answer some basic questions: My standard hourly rate is $150 per hour. Fees for sessions are due at the time of service. I do accept credit cards, including American Express.
I accept PPO insurance with all insurance plans that cover out-of-network providers. Please contact Stacey Flynn at (949) 419-5700, who will verify your benefits prior to our first session and make it easy and convenient for you to use your PPO insurance to help cover the cost of therapy sessions.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

We are all human beings which means we are inherently flawed. No one is perfect and everyone has their struggles. Just because a person goes to a therapist does not mean that are more weak or flawed than the next person. All it means is that a person is willing to get some perspective (because we can't see 360 degrees around our own self) or willing to learn about their humanness and find a way to manage it. It seems like acknowledging that one can't see everything/solve everything/know everything alone is just being realistic. Plus, maybe a person going to see a therapist just wants to grow as a person, reach a goal or be a better parent. In my book, it's admirable.
