My Approach to Therapy
Many people come to me after years of trying to think their way out of pain. They understand where their struggles come from, yet they still feel anxious, numb, stuck in old relationship patterns, or disconnected from themselves. That’s because trauma isn’t only stored in our thoughts. It lives in the nervous system and in the protective parts of us that learned to survive.
As a trauma therapist in Austin, Texas, I specialize in complex trauma, posttraumatic stress (PTSD), dissociative challenges, and attachment wounds. My approach is somatic, relational, and deeply collaborative. I’m a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and Brainspotting to help clients process what happened at the level of both body and mind. We’ll get curious about the parts of you that carry pain and the parts that work hard to protect you, while building your capacity to feel safe in your own body.
Healing doesn’t happen on a timeline, and it doesn’t happen through force. We’ll start by building stability and trust, then move deeper at a pace your system can handle. You remain the expert on your own life, and you’ll always have a say in what feels right in our work together.
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)-S), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)-S), and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), and I work with clients of all ages, as well as couples and families. My own healing journey and my experience as a mother shape the warmth and honesty I bring to every session. You don’t have to keep carrying this alone.
Supervision Details

Our therapists offer care for children, teens, adults, couples, and families, with specialties in trauma recovery, posttraumatic stress (PTSD), dissociation, anxiety, depression, grief, parenting, and perinatal mental health.
Our work is shaped by three core values: safety, curiosity, and connection. We believe healing happens through connection, not correction, and we strive to create a space where your identities, experiences, and needs are fully honored.
If my schedule is full, or another clinician would be a better fit, our team includes senior clinicians and supervised associates who share this trauma-informed approach, so you can often get started sooner.
Sessions are available in person at our South Austin office and via telehealth for clients located in Texas.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I specialize in helping clients heal from complex PTSD (C-PTSD) and dissociative disorders, including Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), Other Specified Dissociative Disorder (OSDD), and depersonalizationderealization.
Complex PTSD often develops after ongoing or repeated trauma, especially in childhood or close relationships. It can show up as chronic shame, emotional flashbacks, difficulty trusting others, harsh self-criticism, people-pleasing, or a sense that something is fundamentally wrong with you. Many clients have been misdiagnosed or told they're "too much" before finding words for what they're experiencing.
Dissociation can look like losing time, feeling unreal or outside your body, memory gaps, hearing internal voices, or noticing parts of you that think, feel, and act differently. These experiences are adaptive responses to overwhelming circumstances, not signs that you're broken.
My work follows a phase-oriented approach. We'll start with stabilization, grounding, and building internal communication and cooperation between parts. When your system is ready, we can gently process traumatic memories using IFS, Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, and Brainspotting, adapted to keep you within your window of tolerance. The goal isn't to get rid of any part of you, but to help your whole system feel safer, more connected, and more at home in the present.
Listing symptoms like emotional flashbacks, losing time, and internal voices helps clients who don't have a diagnosis yet recognize themselves. Mentioning that EMDR is adapted for dissociation signals experience to readers who've had it go badly elsewhere. If you're a member of ISSTD or have specific dissociation training, adding that would strengthen this section.
