In these uncertain times, I offer a safe place for clients to explore their fears and concerns related to Covid-19. I provide Telehealth services as a way of supporting those who are struggling to adjust to this new way of life. Further, I work with doctors, nurses and health care personnel who are adjusting to changes not only in their home and personal life, but also with the changing standards of healthcare. My compassionate approach to therapy allows clients to find comfort in an honest therapeutic relationship, in order to achieve their personal goals for healing. I work to create a non-judgmental and supportive environment that promotes an individual's personal strengths and innate ability to resolve his or her own life struggles. I am particularly interested in the dynamics of families and the impact they have on an individual's relationships and schemas. My intention is to gain an understanding of clients' patterns of behaviors and use my training and intuition to guide treatment and establish therapeutic goals. My interest in nutrition influences my understanding of mental health, as I recognize the importance of physical health and its effects on one's thoughts and emotions. I have studied the gut-brain connection extensively and believe that achieving balance in one's microbiome (or "gut bacteria") can lead to tremendous improvements in overall emotional and mental wellness. It is not uncommon for clients with "treatment resistant" depression and anxiety to begin to experience symptom relief when taking this approach. I work with my clients to help educate them on the gut-brain connection, and direct them to resources that can help guide them on their path to healing. Additionally, I am formally trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and use my knowledge of DBT to provide practical life skills to my clients in the areas of mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. This type of therapy helps people to navigate the often messy world of emotions, and normalize the emotional conflicts that arise in everyday life. My intention in my work is to help clients to build insight into their patterns of behavior, heal their physical bodies, and provide them with DBT skills that will improve their ability to navigate life's challenges. I invite you to call me directly to see how I may be able to help you to reach your own personal goals.
Whether you are feeling stuck due to difficult relationships, anxiety, depression, traumatic events, or simply struggling with the very real challenges of everyday life, you can find greater self-compassion, confidence, experience less stress, and connect with your natural strength and wisdom. You do not have to struggle alone. Life can feel easier and relationships more fulfilling! My approach is collaborative and individualized to your specific needs and strengths. Together we will identify new alternatives to limiting patterns and beliefs and explore skills to make life feel like less of a struggle and more fun. I am committed to partnering with you in creating greater well-being, freedom, and joy. In addition to utilizing traditional talk therapy approaches, I also specialize in using alternative methods that address the mind-body connection including EMDR and yoga for mental health. EMDR is an evidenced-based therapy for the treatment of traumatic stress and managing responses to distressing life experiences. This treatment can be quite effective in dealing with symptoms of anxiety, depression, panic, and issues related to performance. I am also a registered yoga teacher and have specialized training in using therapeutic yoga for mood regulation and stress reduction. For those interested in exploring the mindbody connection more fully, these skills can be accessed no matter your physical ability or level of experience. Whether you're wound up or can't get off the couch, we can create a practice for you.
I am a mental health therapist specializing in childhood trauma and complex posttraumatic stress; I offer online therapy to clients in Florida, Monday through Thursday. You've probably tried to figure it out on your own. Maybe you've read the books, done the research, developed real insight into what's going on, and it still hasn't shifted. That gap between understanding something and actually changing it is exactly where I work. People often come to me for trauma therapy to address childhood wounds, attachment challenges and questions around identity, all layered with complex posttraumatic stress (PTSD). They're usually high-functioning and exhausted, carrying something that hasn't resolved, no matter how hard they’ve tried or how much time has passed. My approach is direct and collaborative. I don't sit quietly and reflect things back to you all session. I'll ask hard questions, offer honest observations, and meet you where you are. We'll look at where your patterns came from, why they made sense at the time, and what it would actually take to change them. That's the work, and it's worth doing.
I specialize in working with people who need help with their relationships. If you need help with anger, rage, or just want to get along better with others, come see me. I specialize in working with anger, rage, and all types of communication issues. I also offer individual therapy for Substance Abuse or other compulsions in a private setting for those who do not wish to participate in group therapy.

I believe good therapy should feel personal, purposeful, and relevant to your life. I bring more than two decades of clinical experience, along with curiosity, perspective, humor, and a genuine interest in the person sitting across from me. I I’m an active therapist. I’ll listen carefully, ask questions, offer feedback, and sometimes challenge you to look at things from a different perspective. There is no single formula I follow; our work is shaped by who you are, what brings you to therapy, and what you hope to accomplish. Most importantly, I believe the relationship we build matters. Therapy should be a place where you can speak candidly, explore what matters to you, and do meaningful work with someone who is fully engaged in the process with you.
Sometimes in life, our lives can become too stressful and overwhelming to cope with on our own. We may struggle with feelings of depression, anxiety, or not being good enough in some way. It is during these periods in life when seeking help or support is important for our overall wellbeing. It is my passion to help others struggling with significant difficulties in their lives. I care about the people I work with and my goal is to provide an environment where you feel heard and understood.
I consider myself to be empathic and a great listener.Your concerns truly matter to me, and I find it important to make sure that our work reflects your important goals. I am an active therapist. I give a lot of feedback but am very careful not to impose my values or opinions. On the contrary, I strive to help you come up with your own answers and to develop the confidence to make your own choices and decisions. I am proud to integrate the principles of Emotionally Focused Therapy in my work with couples.
I believe that healing begins with understanding, and my approach to care is grounded in respect, active listening, and building trust with my patients. As a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC), I'm dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based mental health care that addresses both your immediate needs and long-term wellness goals. My career has given me a unique perspective on the vital connection between physical and mental health. I began my nursing career at Georgetown University Hospital, working in neurology and neurosurgery, where I developed a deep appreciation for how our brain health impacts our emotional well-being. This foundation has proven invaluable as I transitioned into psychiatric nursing, where I've gained extensive experience across diverse settings. I've worked on Yale New Haven Hospital's inpatient psychiatric unit, served on Stamford Hospital's psychiatric consult-liaison team working with patients in emergency and medical settings, and provided outpatient psychiatric care through medication management and therapy. This broad experience means I understand mental health challenges across the full spectrum—from acute crises to ongoing outpatient support. I take a comprehensive approach to psychiatric care, recognizing that you are a whole person, not just a diagnosis. Whether you're struggling with depression, anxiety, attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), bipolar condition, or other mental health conditions, I work collaboratively with you to develop a treatment plan that aligns with your values and goals. My approach combines evidence-based medication management with therapeutic support, ensuring you receive both the medical expertise and emotional understanding you deserve. I'm committed to supporting you through every stage of your mental health journey, meeting you exactly where you are with compassion and clinical excellence.
Our relational skill building interventions give clients opportunities to identify, develop and apply effective skills that will better every dimension of their lives. This multi-dimensional approach succeeds greatly because no stone is left unturned; all issues that are important in peoples' lives, no matter where (school, work, home, etc) are addressed and targeted. Life does not present us with one single problem at a time. If you have a beach ball that has ten holes, you would not patch only one in an effort to repair the ball.
