My warm and caring approach allows my clients to feel safe as I walk beside them throughout their counseling journey.
I've found that the most crucial part of therapy is establishing a comfortable, collaborative therapeutic relationship. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment to explore and gain insight into all of life's misfortunes and hang-ups, and take action towards fulfilling your goals and dreams.
Meredith Golob is a Licensed Professional Counselor with an extensive history of working with children, adults, and families dealing with depression, anxiety, crises, life challenges, and trauma. She is a firm believer in creating a mutually respectful and trusting therapeutic relationship to support clients in reaching their goals.
I work collaboratively with individuals, couples, families and groups towards real change. My approach pulls from a variety of techniques based on the need of the client. My primary modalities include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to provide specific tools; Gottman method for couples; as well as other techniques based upon the need of the client.
I began working in this field almost 30 years ago because I wanted to make a tangible difference in people's lives. Over the years, I have worked with countless individuals, couples, families, and groups to help them improve their quality of life. Through my experience, I have learned that: Although many may appear to be similar demographically in terms of age, race, gender, socioeconomic status, religion, etc., everyone brings hisher own individual histories to therapy -- histories that distinguish each client as a unique individual. As a result, I welcome all clients, and I recognize that each client will bring hisher own history and values to therapy. I commit to working within each individual's system of values as I try to help the individual draw from hisher history to improve hisher quality of life. My two primary metrics are: a) tangible improvements in an individual's life, and b) the individual's feelings and understanding regarding change and the process of change. Like physical therapists and coaches who are willing to challenge their athletes to perform at full potential, I am willing to challenge my clients to reach their full potential in life. But my guiding philosophy is: "challenge by choice" -- I will only as far and as fast as my clients are comfortable.
I specialize in treating anxieties, and feelings of being overwhelmed and stressed in ‘normal’ people like yourself. My practical approaches focus on implementing paths forward for specific problems, as well as addressing generalized angst and emotional distress for which solutions seem elusive. We’ll not just manage symptoms – we’ll challenge assumptions and self-judgments to break old patterns you’ve operated on (perhaps for years), because of past trauma or other experiences. We’ll build new ways of thinking, behaving and responding to your past, present and future challenges. Please call! THERAPY FOCUS On the outside, clients like yourself are stable, purposeful, successful and content. But they quickly express that inside they’re struggling; overwhelmed with feelings of anxiety, stress, frustration and even sadness. Often, there are marital and relationship conflicts. Clients feel stuck in seemingly inescapable patterns, or have specific problems that seem intractable. Then, more issues: job dissatisfaction, marital conflicts (even divorce), or parental child or adolescent challenges – a ‘Polycrisis Syndrome‘. Often clients feel estranged from themselves and family, with goals that seem ambiguous or appear unachievable. Clients want to be heard, validated and acknowledged. I’ll listen. We’ll work together to change that and restore your self-confidence, direction and a strong sense of satisfaction. I offer effective help with problem-solving, marital conflict resolution and reconnection to yourself. I’m a classic psychotherapist, not some A.I.- or minimally experienced internet-social media advisor. My non-judgmental approach balances the need to validate your experiences with the urgency to address and resolve your challenges.

Understanding the causes of anxiety, depression, and self-doubt by increasing self-awareness is the key to effectively navigating life's challenges. I provide a warm and collaborative interpersonal style focused on open communication and integrity while also challenging you to explore ways to live a more fulfilling life. I work with people of all age ranges but specialize in adults in their 20's and 30's experiencing difficulties with anxiety, depression, professional identity, relationship difficulties, and stress management. I also provide initial face-to-face consultation for no fee prior to beginning therapy. I believe therapy needs be tailored to the unique needs of each person and think it is vital to do so in order to best address each client's difficulties. I do not see people as diagnoses but as unique individuals with a story to tell and different ways to deal with life's challenges. Making the first step towards starting therapy to live a more fulfilling life is often difficult and stressful. I try to decrease this stress by providing a clear process and a transparent discussion of any issues as they arise. Hi there. Glad you stopped by! I really love the work that I do, and I’m very lucky to get to meet people in moments of vulnerability. Over the years, I’ve worked with people going through depression, anxiety, trauma, as well as grief and loss. My particular niche is working alongside men individually, who often carry a significant internal burden that they may rarely talk about, or even have words for. Therapy can provide a space to put some of that weight down, make sense of it, and learn how to express what is really going on beneath the surface. I also very much enjoy working with couples. Having myself been married since 2015, my own relationship has taught me a great deal about communication, vulnerability, conflict, and the work it takes to build a lasting relationship. Those experiences led me to embrace the Gottman Method, a therapeutic orientation that focuses heavily on intentionality.
If you’ve gone through something hard, and you’re having difficulty enjoying things, experiencing intrusive thoughts, anxiety, depression, or just not feeling like yourself, I will listen, help you find your footing, and guide you toward feeling like yourself again. Using a warm and supportive approach, I help adult women and men at all life stages who are coping with trauma and life stressors, toward symptom relief and more peace of mind. I have a special interest in reproductive mental health, including pregnancy and postpartum, as well as reproductive loss and trauma, and I am trained and certified as a perinatal mental health counselor (PMH-C) by Postpartum Support International.
