Hi, I’m Morgan! With compassionate, evidence-based care and a passion for helping others heal and grow, I offer a safe space to process your current challenges and experiences that may be contributing to your current symptoms.
My goal and passion as a therapist is to help you maximize your potential to lead a full and satisfying life. Often, barriers get in the way of this, and it can be easy to get stuck on what to do next. Going through a major life change can often create or reinforce these barriers, causing difficulty in relationships, impairment in emotional health, and loss of identity. In our work together, I will provide you with a safe, non-judgmental, and respectful environment, allowing you to delve into the source and patterns of your difficulties. With this new understanding of who you are, we will collaboratively work on developing new strategies, coping skills and adaptive behaviors that will enable you to live the life you want to live.
Marianne Bartos is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania with over 15 years of experience providing therapeutic care to adults seeking help with depression, anxiety, trauma, difficult life transitions, and many other challenges.
It can feel daunting to explore the issues in your life. As an experienced psychologist, I work with individuals of all ages, sexual orientations, and cultural backgrounds. I use an eclectic approach and believe that examining the underlying causes of life circumstances is vital to the change process. To this end, I help you identify and change problematic life patterns and then move forward with changes. In addition to understanding that some problems do not require researching one's past and are more about here-and-now life circumstances, I work hard to distinguish between different types of concerns in thinking about each individual's therapeutic needs. No matter what your goals are, I am committed to helping you reach them.
I'm an individual and couples therapist specializing in issues such as communication barriers, work-life balance, stress and anxiety, intimacy, infidelity, breakups divorce, blended families, and increasing relationship satisfaction. I implement individualized techniques to address issues that are faced in today's relationships with self and others. With all the movement and overstimulation happening around us, it can be difficult to hear our own thoughts, let alone others. We often keep moving at full speed, not realizing how many feelings and emotions we are suppressing and avoiding. Therapy can be intimidating; you're not sure how you got here, but you're ready to shed the negative and repetitive behaviors that are not serving you. I am passionate about helping you understand the root cause of your patterns and learning how you got to where you are today, but most importantly, changing your path to reach your future goals and where you ultimately want to be. I'll help you develop skills to communicate, build confidence, and feel understood in a safe space for open conversations through exploration and collaboration with a direct, nonjudgmental approach. Together, we will create a long-term lifestyle change that you will be able to maintain and feel fulfilled with.
Do you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or caught in challenges that seem to keep resurfacing? Maybe you're struggling in a relationship, weighed down by anxiety or stress, or feeling stuck in patterns you don't quite understand. You may recognize that something needs to change but feel unsure where to begin. Therapy can help you gain clarity, strengthen your relationships, and find a different way forward. I work with adults and couples navigating relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, chronic illness, burnout, and major life transitions. You may be struggling with recurring conflict, communication difficulties, or emotional distance in your relationship. Perhaps you're navigating difficult family dynamics, low self-esteem, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or a growing sense of dissatisfaction. Whatever brings you to therapy, my goal is to help you understand yourself better and develop healthier, more fulfilling ways to navigate your life and relationships. I believe therapy should reflect your unique experiences, needs, and goals rather than follow a one-size-fits-all approach. Together, we'll explore the underlying factors contributing to your challenges, including how past experiences, relationships, and familiar patterns shape how you cope, communicate, and connect. Understanding these dynamics is important, but insight alone isn't always enough. We also focus on practical strategies for managing difficult emotions, strengthening boundaries, improving communication, and navigating conflict. The goal is meaningful, lasting change, not simply managing problems as they arise. My approach is integrative, relational, and trauma-informed, drawing from attachment-based therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and other evidence-based approaches. With couples, I help partners recognize cycles of conflict and disconnection, understand each other's emotional needs, and navigate challenges around communication, intimacy, and trust. Whether you're hoping to rebuild emotional safety, strengthen your connection, or gain clarity about your relationship's future, we'll work toward healthier ways of relating. With individuals, we may explore how family dynamics, past experiences, and long-standing coping strategies contribute to current struggles. Our work can focus on strengthening self-awareness, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and your ability to navigate relationships and life transitions with greater confidence and flexibility. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over a decade of experience, I bring a warm, active, and collaborative style to sessions. I'm not simply a quiet observer; I actively engage in our conversations, offering thoughtful feedback, practical guidance, and gentle challenges when appropriate. I believe therapy works best when you feel understood and supported as you make meaningful changes. I'm licensed in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut and offer primarily virtual sessions, with limited in-person availability one day a week in New York City. I'm currently accepting new individual and couples clients. You're welcome to schedule an initial session or arrange a complimentary 15-minute introductory call to ask questions and explore whether we'd be a good fit.
Individual and Couple sessions informed by attachment theory, trauma and when needed sex therapy are provided in my Columbus Circle office. I am certified in EMDR and Board Certified in Neurofeedback and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. These are 2 of the key treatment modalities recommended in the book, BODY KEEPS THE SCORE by Bessel van der Kolk, MD. My orientation to counseling and psychotherapy comes from a combination of traditional psychotherapy and the newer neurobiological approaches that integrate what has been learned about the how the brain and mind work together (or don't). Another important underpinning of my approach to this work is attachment theory. Attachment theory describes how powerful and important the need to be connected to others is for us as human beings. Sometimes during challenging childhoods, we learn ways to adapt to others that become a part of us and we can carry these sometimes counterproductive adaptations into our adulthood. The agenda of our work is set by you. At the end of our first session, I will ask whether the relationship seems workable for you. If it is, we will schedule another session. You set your goals for our work together and I give my recommendations for how to address the concerns that you have raised. Together we decide how to proceed with the work together.
You've probably been sitting with this for a while-- thinking about reaching out, talking yourself out of it, and thinking about it again. Maybe something recently pushed you to finally do it. Whatever brought you here, I'm glad you made it. I'm Cate, and I work with adults who are tired of feeling stuck. Whether that's anxiety that follows you everywhere, relationship patterns that keep repeating, low mood that's hard to shake, or the weight of experiences you've been carrying longer than you should have to. My clients are often people who have been managing on their own for a long time and are ready to try something different. My approach is warm, honest, and tailored to your individual needs, drawing from Attachment Theory, CBT, EMDR, Somatic and Self Regulation Strategies, Emotionally Focused Therapy, mindfulness techniques, and Motivational Interviewing. Each incorporated where it fits best for you, all grounded in a trauma-informed lens and an understanding of how early relationships shape who we are today. In practice that means we go at your pace, build on your strengths, develop new skills where needed, and find the path that actually works for your life. People often tell me that talking to me feels like talking to a trusted friend who also knows what they're doing. Warm, nonjudgmental, and occasionally funny. My goal is that you leave every session feeling heard, a little clearer, and less alone in whatever you're carrying. Therapy isn't always easy, but you don't have to do it alone. If you're ready to start or just curious, reach out. A free 15-minute consultation is a great first step.

I also provide ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP).
