San Jose Mental Health Statistics

San Jose offers a variety of resources to help its residents address mental health and behavioral issues. In 2015, just over 10% of all adults reported at least 14 days of poor mental health within the past month, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In addition, 5% of all hospitalizations in Santa Clara County in 2014 were due to mental illness. 

Santa Clara County Public Health reports that within the county, people may be affected by intimate partner violence (IPV), suicide, and illicit drug use and overdose. The rate of people who reported experiencing IPV from 2001 to 2015 was 1 in 8, with over 1 in 5 LGBTQIA+ adults experiencing IPV during this time.
