After a natural disaster or terrorist attack, there are likely going to be many people in distress. If you want to give emergency psychological support to survivors, remember to ASSIST:

Approach the individual.

Stabilize their emotions.

Serve their needs.

Inform them of the facts.

Support their story.

Turn them toward further services.
