My communication style is very calming towards my clients during therapy.
In a world of noise, I provide a place of quiet, offering room to focus and think.
I believe in the intrinsic worth of all human beings. I believe that many people do not see their value because it is overshadowed by the shame caused by their perceptions of who they should be and what they should be achieving. There are many reasons why these distortions exist; but one thing is for certain, it creates a feeling of being a fraud and deep shame. A lot of time and energy is used to counteract this secret shame. I feel that it is important to help teens and adults to become authentic and accepting of their strengths and weaknesses instead of putting our emotional and physical energy in denying and being afraid of our humanness. It is exhausting and paralyzing to be so afraid of our imperfections. I believe there is value in accepting our own humanity. We have to climb off our self imposed pedestal which is secretive and isolating and connect with other human beings without the fear of being discovered a fraud. It is so freeing and meaningful.

Your struggles are unique and complex. As a psychologist my aim is to help you explore your personal narratives, to understand how your past is affecting your present and keeping you from fulfilling your values. Whether you are experiencing difficulty with relationships, life events, healing from trauma, or simply don't find yourself enjoying your life as you once did, I will help you feel grounded while we gain a non-judgmental perspective on your struggles and put our minds together to strategize ways forward. I specialize in treatments for trauma, depression, anxiety, job stress, and relationship issues. I take a pragmatic and eclectic approach by integrating psychodynamic theories with evidence-based tools. I draw on treatments ranging from CBT, ACT, and CPT, tailoring treatment to your unique needs and experiences. I completed advanced training at Haverford College and the Dept. of Veteran Affairs Hospital where I continue to work as a trauma specialist. I provide individual therapy (in person andor virtually) for late adolescents and adults in the greater Washington, DC area and I am PsyPact licensed so can see people in participating PsyPact states. I also provide comprehensive ADHD assessments. I have a particular passion for working with young adults who are figuring out and navigating their next "chapter" of life. I aim to help individuals capitalize on their strengths and work with their limitations, change their responses to interpersonal problems, and help them form new and improved healthy relationships and ways of relating to their world that does not repeat previously unhealthy patterns. By bringing support, encouragement, humor, and a nonjudgmental perspective to our work together, I meet clients where they are, whether they have been to therapy before or are exploring therapy for the first time. Knowing how important the therapy relationship is, my primary goal is to make my clients feel heard, understood, and hopeful. I adapt my approach and style, as needed, to work with my clients' unique needs. I am always happy to jump on the phone for a brief consultation to determine if we may be a good fit to work together.
I am a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner dedicated to delivering empathetic, research-driven care to individuals of all ages. I have worked with clients facing a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), posttraumatic stress (PTSD), mood diagnoses, and other psychiatric conditions. Many individuals seek insight, emotional stability, and actionable strategies to navigate stressors, strengthen relationships, and regain a sense of control. I am particularly committed to empowering clients seeking deeper self-understanding, resilience, and working toward meaningful, lasting change.
It's time now to genuinely feel and function better. In order to do that, it's essential to pay close attention to your internal responses to the difficulties and patterns that have been cropping up in your closest relationships, your work, and with respect to your own self-concept, and to do so with someone who can help you see things differently and perhaps more accurately. Together, we will create an open, accepting, safe space, where you also will feel helpfully and persistently challenged to know yourself much better from the inside out, and as quickly as possible.

Hello beautiful soul, and welcome. I’m so glad you’re here. If you’re considering therapy, it probably means you’re ready to invest in yourself and create meaningful change in your life. That’s a courageous step, and I’m honored to support you on this journey. My approach to therapy is warm, compassionate, and deeply authentic. I believe that healing happens when we feel safe, seen, and supported, so I create a space where you can be fully yourself without judgment. I take a mindful and holistic approach, meaning I don’t just focus on the challenges you’re facing, I honor your strengths, your values, and the unique story that makes you who you are. Together, we’ll explore what’s holding you back, uncover your innate wisdom, and empower you to move forward in a way that feels true to you. I specialize in working with people who tend to prioritize others’ needs above their own, those navigating anxiety or Obsessive Compulsion (OCD), and anyone going through life stage transitions. Many of my clients are working to break free from old patterns, like people-pleasing, perfectionism, or feeling stuck in cycles of worry or self-doubt. If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place. I know how overwhelming it can feel to juggle life’s demands while trying to stay connected to yourself, and I’m here to help you find balance, clarity, and peace. When we work together, you can expect a supportive and collaborative relationship. I’ll meet you where you are, tailoring our sessions to what you need most, whether that’s practical tools to manage anxiety, gentle guidance to set boundaries, or space to process and reflect. I’ll challenge you when it’s helpful and offer insights to help you see things from a fresh perspective, but I’ll always follow your pace and respect your boundaries. My goal is to help you feel more empowered, confident, and grounded—not just in therapy, but in your everyday life. If you’re ready to start, or if you’re curious to learn more, I’d love to connect and see if we’re a good fit. Therapy is a partnership, and finding the right therapist is an important step.
