My Approach to Therapy

Maybe you’re used to looking like you have it together, while internally you’re overthinking everything. You replay conversations, second-guess your decisions, worry about how others see you, or feel overwhelmed by emotions that are hard to shut off. You might be navigating relationship challenges, a major life transition, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself and unsure of what you actually want. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York, and I work with young adults and adults who want to better understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that keep showing up in their lives. Together, we’ll get curious about what’s underneath those patterns, not just focus on making the uncomfortable feelings go away. My approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I draw from dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and other evidence-based approaches, while also making space for deeper exploration and meaningful change. Therapy with me is a place where you can show up as you are. I’ll meet you with compassion, ask thoughtful questions, gently challenge you when it’s helpful, , when appropriate, bring some humor into the room, too.

My Practice & Services

You don’t need to come to therapy knowing exactly what you want to work on or having the right words for what you’re feeling. Part of our work can be figuring that out together. I want therapy to be a place where you can slow down, get to know yourself more honestly, and begin to separate what you truly want from what you’ve learned to expect of yourself. Over time, I hope you leave with a stronger sense of who you are, more trust in your own decisions, and greater freedom to approach your relationships and your life in ways that feel authentic to you.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

I believe the relationship you have with your therapist matters just as much as the work you do together. Therapy asks you to be vulnerable, and that’s much easier when you feel understood, respected, and comfortable being yourself. I want our relationship to feel genuine and collaborative, where you can tell me when something resonates, and when it doesn’t. You know yourself best, and I see therapy as something we build together rather than something I do to you.
