My Approach to Therapy
Do you find yourself constantly taking care of everyone else’s needs while losing touch with your own? Do you worry more about how others feel than how you feel? Do you find yourself repeating relationship patterns you understand intellectually, but still struggle to change?
Many of the people I work with have spent years adapting to the needs, emotions, or expectations of others. They may be the person who holds everything together, avoids conflict, works hard to keep relationships stable, or questions whether their own needs are valid. Over time, this can lead to feeling exhausted, disconnected, anxious, or unsure of who they are outside of the roles they have carried.
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas, and I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating relational trauma, betrayal, family conflict, estrangement, emotionally difficult relationships, attachment wounds, anxiety, depression, grief, and major life transitions. Some clients are healing after betrayal or rebuilding trust in a relationship. Others are working through the impact of emotionally immature family dynamics, childhood emotional neglect, or patterns that continue to affect their relationships today.
My approach is trauma-informed, attachment-based, and relational. I believe that many of the struggles people experience today are connected to patterns that developed for a reason. The ways you respond, protect yourself, or relate to others often made sense based on what you experienced, even if those patterns are no longer helping you create the life and relationships you want.
Together, we explore the patterns beneath the problem rather than focusing only on symptoms. We look at how your experiences have shaped your relationship with yourself and others, how you respond to conflict and closeness, and what gets in the way of feeling secure, connected, and fully yourself.
I draw from evidence-based approaches, including attachment-focused therapy, Gottman Method couples therapy, cognitive processing therapy, and other trauma-focused approaches. Therapy is tailored to your individual experiences, goals, and needs, combining research-supported methods with a deeper understanding of your story.
Therapy with me is a place where your experiences get to be understood, often in a way they may not have been before. You do not have to justify your needs, minimize your pain, or carry everything alone. Together, we can work toward understanding yourself more deeply, creating healthier patterns, and building relationships that feel more mutual, secure, and aligned with who you want to become.
My Practice & Services
I focus on providing thoughtful, individualized care that is tailored to each person's unique experiences, goals, and needs. I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely understood, not just as a collection of symptoms, but as a whole person with a history, relationships, strengths, and experiences that have shaped who you are today.
My goal is to create a space where you can explore difficult experiences with honesty and compassion while developing a deeper understanding of yourself and the patterns that influence your relationships and your life. I take time to understand before moving toward change, because lasting growth often begins with understanding why something developed in the first place.
I know that reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if you are someone who is used to handling things on your own or taking care of others. You do not need to have everything figured out before beginning. We can start wherever you are and work together toward greater clarity, connection, and meaningful change.
What if I am the person who always takes care of everyone else?
Many of the people I work with are used to being the strong one—the person who understands others, manages emotions, solves problems, or keeps relationships together. Over time, this can make it difficult to recognize your own needs, trust your own feelings, or know what you want.
Therapy can be a place to understand where these patterns came from, reconnect with yourself, and build relationships where your needs matter too.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I am especially passionate about helping people who are struggling with:
• Healing after betrayal, infidelity, or other relationship injuries
• Understanding the impact of emotionally immature parents, difficult family relationships, and family estrangement
• Breaking patterns of people-pleasing, over-functioning, perfectionism, and difficulty setting boundaries
• Building a stronger sense of self after years of prioritizing others’ needs
• Understanding attachment patterns and how past relationships shape current ones
• Navigating anxiety, depression, grief, and major life transitions
• Couples work focused on rebuilding trust, improving communication, and creating deeper emotional connection
I am particularly drawn to working with people who are ready to understand not only what they are struggling with, but why these patterns developed and how they can create meaningful change.
