My name is Sydney Johnson, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) offering family therapy both online and in person. I founded Advocate Family Counseling for people like you and like me. I’ve been in your shoes, wanting help, needing help, and not knowing where to turn. Our family counseling services at Advocate Family Counseling provide a safe place to explore the deep, difficult things you hold inside, the challenges that overwhelm you, and the places where you want to be more vulnerable with your partner. That’s where our name comes from: Advocate Family Counseling. We advocate for your growth; we advocate for your healing; and we advocate for what will help you live the most fulfilled life, not only for you but also for your future, your family, and your environment. A healthier you is what we want. We’re here to help you go from frustrated and puzzled to at peace and thriving.

I work with individuals and couples who are ready to break out of painful patterns and build healthier, more connected relationships. Many of my clients come in feeling stuck, caught in cycles of miscommunication, conflict, or emotional distance, and they want practical tools to create real change. I specialize in premarital and marriage counseling, helping couples strengthen their foundation, improve communication, and navigate challenges with clarity and care. I also support women working through past relational wounds or trauma that still impacts their present relationships. My approach is structured, honest, and compassionate. I’ll guide you with clear direction while also creating a space where you feel heard and understood. For those who desire it, I offer Christian counseling and can thoughtfully integrate faith into our work.
