My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and have been practicing therapy since 2011. I have experience working with teens and adults who come to therapy for substance abuse, anxiety, depression, traumatic life events, and other issues that make it difficult to reach their goals. I am trained in several evidence-based approaches including motivational Interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy, person-centered therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, and mindfulness techniques.
My approach is warm and down-to-earth and uses perspectives and tools from many styles of therapy so that I can tailor a unique approach together with you. I believe that therapy is an important opportunity in which to feel seen, heard, and validated, practice new skills for living, and deepen our insight into patterns of unhelpful thinking or doing. In my work, I strive to be clear, honest, and genuine as you learn about your reality in a manner that feels comfortable for you.
