What's My Approach to Therapy?

Ryan Battaglia provides his clients with the tools and skills they need to live a full life—meaning, having fulfilling relationships, following your dreams, and achieving your goals. Sometimes we are faced with adversity, but through this we can grow into better versions of ourselves. Ryan has learned, through his own mental health journey, that a sense of humor comes in handy from time to time, and to keep a holistic view on health and wellness. Working with Ryan will enable you to turn the hard times into opportunities for growth!

At Foundations Counseling, Ryan Battaglia works with a variety of clients who may be looking to work on:
· Individual therapy—daily stressors, men’s issues, adjustment issues, dating and relationships, anger management, depression, anxiety, self-esteem
· Children, adolescents, and teens—school issues, social and relationship issues, family issues, grief, self-esteem and self-worth issues, play therapy, self-harm, suicidal ideation
· Mental health and wellness—depression, anxiety, stress, adjustment issues, anger management, assertiveness and boundary setting, trauma processing
· Relationship and family counseling—unresolved conflict and conflict resolution, blended families, trust and understanding, communication, family system issues, setting and holding boundaries
· Life transitions—career and college exploration, grief and loss, empty nest syndrome

Ryan Battaglia received his Master of Science degree in clinical mental health counseling from Plymouth State University and completed his clinical internship hours with a community mental health facility in Wheat Ridge, CO. He has experience working with families, young adults, teenagers, and young children with a range of different mental health issues including depression and anxiety, motivation and self-worth issues, anger management, suicidal ideation, and self-harm. Ryan utilizes techniques from existentialism, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). He puts the person above all and focuses on building a trusting therapeutic relationship.

Ryan grew up just outside of Boston, Massachusetts, and was a competitive high school athlete. Upon graduating high school, he spent his college years in the White Mountains where he first learned about the college counseling center. Since then, therapy has been a positive force in his growth and has led him to a career in mental health. Hate it or love it, Ryan is an avid Boston sports fan. He stays active by skiing, mountain biking, and running.
