My Approach to Therapy

Hello my name is Regina Karpman, I have been a clinician for over 15 years. I work collaboratively with clients individuals and couples who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship stress, communication, life transitions, grief, and self-esteem challenges. My therapeutic approach combines supportive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), emotional processing, existential therapy and using practical coping strategies to help clients gain insight, improve emotional balance, strengthen communication, and feel more empowered in their daily lives and or in their relationships.

My Practice & Services

I believe therapy is most effective when clients feel emotionally safe, heard, and genuinely supported. My goal is to create a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental space where clients can openly process difficult emotions, build insight, and develop practical tools for everyday life. I work collaboratively with each client to help strengthen emotional regulation, communication skills, self-esteem, boundaries, and overall coping abilities. I have experience working with clients facing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, family conflict, domestic violence recovery, parenting stress, social and emotional challenges, and major life transitions. I also support clients navigating cultural adjustment, immigration-related stress, and identity-related concerns. My therapeutic style is supportive, strengths-based, and insight-oriented while integrating evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential therapy, mindfulness, emotional processing, behavioral interventions, and psychoeducation. I tailor treatment to each client’s individual needs, goals, developmental level, and life experiences. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families and value building strong therapeutic relationships that foster trust, growth, resilience, and healing.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of the healing process. Building trust, safety, and a strong therapist-client alliance allows clients to feel comfortable being vulnerable, exploring difficult emotions, and working toward meaningful change. I strive to create a supportive, empathetic, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and understood. Through collaboration and connection, therapy can become a space for growth, healing, self-discovery, and lasting emotional change.
