My Approach to Helping
Depression robs us of our hope and ability to feel joy. Anxious thoughts can cause us to doubt ourselves and the people we want to trust. I know the toll that these feelings can have on our relationships with others and with ourselves. Life experiences can bring us pain, cause us to question our world, and create obstacles that feel overwhelming and overpowering. Having someone to talk to who understands can make a valuable difference. In our sessions, you will have a space where you can be your true self, where you will feel supported, and where we will have insightful conversations that bring awareness and meaning.
Through our work together, my hope is that you feel comfortable sharing your story, you feel valued and heard, and that you know you are not alone. I am empathetic, genuine, and nonjudgmental. As your therapist, I will be your ally and advocate. In therapy, we will spend time learning about what matters to you, what guides you, and what obstacles you may be facing. We will explore past experiences to understand how they may be showing up in current relationships with others and in your relationship with yourself. We will come to a greater understanding of your inner struggles and develop tools you can use on your journey towards personal healing and growth. I offer insights based on psychoeducation and incorporate therapy techniques based on your goals. Most importantly, you will have a space where you can discover and be your authentic self, feel supported, and learn skills to help navigate emotions, experiences, and relationships.
