Is your life on a satisfying path? Are your relationships working the way you want them to? Do you take good care of yourself? Through compassionate listening, searching questions and practical ideas, Mary Ann guides you in your life's direction. Together we can reduce pain and anxiety, clarify your choices, examine the forces that drive you, and help you make your relationships more fulfilling.
More Info About My Practice
I do a lot of separation/divorce work in my practice. While I prefer the peaceful approaches like mediation and collaborative divorce (in which I am highly trained), I also work with high-conflict separation/divorce cases. My goal is to encourage cooperation, respect, keeping children's needs foremost, and staying out of court when possible.
I also help couples who are confused about the best direction for their relationship to clarify their best possible choice.
Had a Negative Therapy Experience?
I always ask clients about previous therapy experiences. This is important so that we identify what worked or did not work in the past for clients; in this way we gain clues in order to avoid certain errors and to provide what clients need.
Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
The relationship between client and therapist is, I believe, the most crucial element for client comfort level and growth. Clients can expect me to attune to their needs, to be respectful and non-hierarchical, and to discuss whether the work seems helpful or not. We may redirect the work at any point if a client's needs dictate that.
