What's My Approach to Therapy?

Welcome, I’m Laura Reeves, Licensed Professional Counselor and substance-use counselor with Trouble to Triumph Counseling. My practice helps teens and adults who feel stuck in anxiety, trauma, or substance-use patterns regain control of their lives through compassionate, skill-based therapy focused on resilience, and real-life change. I created Trouble to Triumph Counseling because I believe people are not defined by their hardest chapters; growth is always possible with the right support. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in real-world tools you can use daily. I integrate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and relapse-prevention strategies while keeping therapy human, supportive, and goal-focused. You set the pace, and together we work to understand your story, regulate emotions, strengthen coping skills, and build confidence so progress happens now. Our first session focuses on building comfort, trust, and understanding. You’ll have space to share your experiences without pressure or judgment, while we begin identifying goals and immediate strategies that can help you feel relief. Many clients say they leave the first session feeling heard, encouraged, and more hopeful about moving from Trouble to Triumph.
