My Approach to Therapy

Worrying all the damn time is exhausting. So is trying to hold everything together while your mind runs nonstop in the background. A lot of the people I work with feel overwhelmed, emotionally worn down, disconnected from themselves, or stuck in survival mode. Maybe you’re overthinking everything, snapping at people you love, struggling to rest, or carrying stress so long that your body and brain don’t remember how to relax anymore. Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, practical, and judgment-free. I use strengths-based, solution-focused, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approaches to help people manage anxiety, burnout, relationship stress, overwhelm, and life transitions. My goal is not to “fix” you. It’s to help you feel more grounded, more connected to yourself, and better able to handle life without feeling like you’re drowning in it. I’ve worked with people from many different walks of life, including families involved with children’s services or juvenile court, individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, and substance use, and older adults navigating grief, isolation, and major life changes. Most importantly, I want therapy to feel human. You do not have to show up perfectly here. We’ll figure it out together.

My Practice & Services

I started my private practice in 2020 after recovering from Covid-19 while working in a nursing home early in the pandemic. That experience changed me both personally and professionally, and it deepened my appreciation for how important support, connection, and compassion really are. I offer virtual therapy across Ohio through secure HIPAA-compliant video sessions, with some limited in-person availability in Euclid. Many clients appreciate being able to attend therapy from the comfort of home, especially when life already feels overwhelming. I have master’s degrees in Social Science Administration and Positive Organization Development and Change from Case Western Reserve University, and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervision designation in Ohio. Most importantly, I want therapy to feel approachable, supportive, and genuinely helpful. You do not have to have everything figured out before you show up. We’ll work through it together.

My Role as a Therapist

My role as a therapist is to help you feel a little less alone while we sort through what?s weighing you down. Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, practical, and human. We might laugh. We might cuss a little. I will probably want to see your pets at some point, and I genuinely care about the people and relationships that matter to you. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe enough to be honest, imperfect, overwhelmed, uncertain, or even emotionally exhausted without feeling judged for it. You don?t have to have the right words or show up with everything figured out. I bring over twenty years of experience, two master's degrees from Case Western Reserve University, and a strengths-based, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach that helps people manage anxiety, burnout, relationship stress, life transitions, and overwhelm. My goal is not to turn you into a perfect person. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, more connected to yourself, and more able to handle life without feeling like you are drowning in it. We'll work together to find practical tools, healthier patterns, and steadier ways forward while making room for your humanity along the way.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Starting therapy can feel awkward, vulnerable, or honestly, a little scary. A lot of people worry they'll say the wrong thing, be judged, cry too much, not know where to start, or somehow do therapy wrong. You don?t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. My role isn?t to judge you or analyze every word you say. Therapy is simply a space to slow down, feel supported, and start making sense of what's weighing on you. Some sessions are deep. Some are practical. Sometimes we laugh. Sometimes we talk about your dog before we talk about your childhood trauma. That's okay too. You are allowed to show up exactly as you are.
