My Approach to Therapy

Deciding to pursue the journey of therapy takes courage and strength and I would be honored to be the therapist to help guide and support you through your exploration of your self, your life and of your relationships. I approach therapy from a collaborative and supportive place, challenging people when necessary and helping them to utilize their own internal strengths and external supports in the best way possible. Through therapy, we can work to explore yourself and your relationships and how imbalanced thoughts and unhealthy behaviors lead to negative cycles and unhealthy interactions with the world around you. Although I am a Marriage and Family Therapist, I work with individuals, in addition to families and couples (both married and unmarried), and help all of those that find their way to my office create a happier, healthier and more insightful future. I will work with you or with you and your significant other andor family members to create a safe environment that will foster growth and happiness.

Supervision Details

One of my passions is clinical supervision. I provide individual and group clinical supervision in my practice. I believe in a collaborative approach to supervision and meet my supervisees where they are in their own growth process.

My Practice & Services

My office is conveniently located on Main Street in the beautiful and historic Old Wethersfield area of Wethersfield, CT. My fee for an initial appointment is $150 and $50-100 for all other sessions. I am currently paneled with Anthem, BCBS, Cigna, TriCare, MHN, MedicaidHusky, and Tufts. A sliding fee is also available for a limited number of clients and I am happy to work with you regarding what fees you may feel comfortable paying.

My Role as a Therapist

As a therapist, I know that my role is not to tell those that find their way to my office what to do, but instead to act as a guide to help and empower them to find their own way to their own growth. My role is to make the therapy office a safe place and the therapeutic relationship comfortable so that each person is able to open themselves up to the growth that will lead to the realization of their potential. I love being able to help people to create changes for themselves and to become a better self and have better relationships and a better life.

My Therapy Focus

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I approach therapy from a systems perspective, which is a fancy way of saying that I approach therapy by looking not only at the individual that comes to my office, but also at how that person relates to and is connected to the people and environment around them. Humans are hard-wired to need relationships with people. Unfortunately, sometimes those relationships do not offer positivity in lives, and the way we communicate with the people, places and things around us affect how we see ourselves. Through the therapeutic process, we will look not only at who you are inside and your view of self, but also how you relate to your family, your friends, your significant otherpartner, and your environment.

When you decide to begin the therapeutic journey, I will need to know what you would like to see change for yourself and also what you will need from our relationship together. I will always assess for safety and will encourage you to explore the strengths and supports that you have in place that will aid us in our process.
