My name is Kristen Johnson, and I utilize a whole-person approach, integrating the mind, body, and soul to support healing through evidence-based practices such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), motivational interviewing, positive psychology, Internal Family Systems (IFS), active imagination, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I am collaborative and interactive in session, and I understand that you are the expert in your own life. I have a Master’s in Counseling and another Master’s in Depth Psychology, so I may also incorporate dreamwork, astrology, myth, and Jungian concepts like the shadow in our work together. I have worked in a variety of settings, including residential, wilderness, and private practice, for the past 10 years. I am currently a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Hawaii and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia. I also offer coaching services across the country and internationally. I specialize in working with young women and adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, adverse childhood experiences, trauma-related symptoms, attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), and communication and relational issues.
