My Approach to Helping
As an Integrative Positive Psychologist, my therapeutic approach uses evidence-based principles of positive psychology. It is not just positive thinking, but rather it is more about flourishing in both the good and bad times by focusing on what is right about you, the people in your life, and your situation. It is an art form to be your "best self" and keep moving toward the energy. During my 44 years as a Professor of Psychology and as a practicing Licensed Psychologist, my research in the field of applied psychology has produced several approaches to psychotherapy. I felt energized as I implemented integrative positive psychology.
Full transparency: I was and am drawn to the most cutting-edge therapeutic interventions. Successful utilizations of Biofeedback, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and positive psychology have led me to the field of Integrative Positive Psychology. This field is an approach to understanding human behavior, emotions, and well-being by merging complementary therapies with positive psychology.
My practice specializes in the areas of anxiety, depression, stress management, and relationship issues. I enjoy talking to various groups and sharing new insights regarding emotions, cognitions, and consciousness as they relate to Integrative Positive Psychology.
