My Approach to Therapy
There are times throughout our life that we may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or like we are drowning. It can be hard to ask for help from those around you but you should know that you don't have to go it alone. Together we can explore what is happening in your life that may be making you feel this way. Is it something from your past, your relationships, work, or the stress of life right now? I embrace a variety of techniques to help you process things, including art therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), sand tray therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to name a few. Finding the right therapist is an important part of the journey, so reach out today for a free consultation to see if we match. I look forward to being a part of your story.
after two years the investigation was finally getting somewhere. things were connecting. one of the victims were in a white corvette, blocks from where the 16 yr old victim was last seen. Then he was pulled over with a woman in his car, a known sex worker. the drivers name was added to the list of names, Robert H. Jr. was called in for an interview. He was nervous, sweaty. He was asked for DNA and said "no". Others had refused it, but they tracked down the car he had since sold. Collected carpet fibers and sent to the crime lab. 7 months later "in the world of fibers there aren't any two that get closer together" to the fibers picked off the shoe of the victim. they were on to something, but what? Secrets, in leather creases, cotton stitching, waiting to be found. the task force was spinning it's wheel before finding the car, whose fibers matched those found on the 17 yr old victim. He was an American ideal, 18 yrs in the military, helicopter pilot, married for 26yr and the father of 5 children. She knew him since they were 12 years old. sasha noticed a change in her father. they were just people in the background. He had a bad temper, was verbally and physically abusive. Linda had suspicions, but that he was having an affair, not that he was killing people. answered were already prepared. he would leave dressed up nicely, not what you wear hunting. He came back with blood in the van, and said he hit a dog. His grandfather was murdered by his wife in 1945 while he slept in bed. Linda said she didn't know about it from family, that someone else told her. Very soon his secrets would be revealed. He talked after 6 months in jail, he said he found religion again. He confessed to killing 14 people, and he drew a map in his cell. Part of the plea agreement was that he would disclose where the body was. Buried 2 feet underground, outside his bedroom window, lay one of his victims. he confessed to 3 unsolved murders, one in 1988, another in 1975 double murder. He was on a list of suspects, he bought ammo, but he was never brought in for questioning. he addressed the court. He apologized to each family. He had no answer for why. He was sentenced to 408 years in prison. At least the victim families know what happened. In 2002, he was convicted for 2 other murders. The death penalty was deemed unconstitutional, but he will remain in prison for the rest of his life.
What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process
We hold so much inside, feeling like we can't share things with our friends or family. Therapy creates an opportunity to express those thoughts and feelings, in a safe space where you can process them I will meet you where you are at while pushing gently to see past what is in front of you. Providing that extra support to help you feel empowered to move in the direction you want your life to go in.
