My Approach to Helping
Clients seek my guidance and support for various reasons, but ultimately it comes down to: They want to feel better. This is where I step on board, you no longer walk the walk alone. We figure out what exactly it means to feel better and then how to get there. What is missing that you think will create more happiness? What is currently happening that is impeding you, sinking you, creating an obstacle to lightness or fulfillment? I will ask you thought-provoking questions, offer alternative perspectives (I often hear, "Hmm, I never thought about it that way"), and invest in you, as a person, and the realization of your happiness.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I myself crave deep connection with others. So it stands to reason that I was drawn to a field where connection is paramount. Life is hard. Not always. Not in all the ways. But life will inevitably throw people and circumstances at us that we need to work through. I love the idea of a therapeutic relationship existing wherein I can be the space and the person to talk you through it. To figure out, as a therapeutic unit, what and how things need to change. It's a very unique role in a person's life, and I find fulfillment in filling it.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Give it 20 minutes. Hop on the phone with me for a complimentary consultation and decide afterwards. I feel confident that therapy becomes less scary or uncertain if you put a face and name to the therapist. If it's not for you, fine, but you'll feel better after learning a bit more with a really small investment of your time.
