My Approach to Therapy

Seeking therapy can feel daunting, especially during challenging times, and I understand the courage it takes to begin this journey. As an individual therapist, I work with women navigating so many of life’s big and little challenges. I take an integrative approach, drawing from person-centered, strengths-based, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques, tailored to what you actually need, not a one-size-fits-all protocol. Therapy should be flexible. Some clients want to lead, picking the modality and topics each week. Others prefer that I take the lead. Most land somewhere in between, and we figure that out together. I keep things honest and human. My sessions aren’t stuffy: we talk about hard things, and we laugh a lot. My goal is for you to feel comfortable enough to tell me what’s working and what’s not.

My Practice & Services

I hold a master’s in clinical mental health counseling and am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)-Associate). I specialize in supporting women navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, parenting children with special needs, attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), chronic illness, and body-image concerns. I bring both professional training and lived experience as a parent of a child with special needs, which helps me connect deeply with clients. My approach blends dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), humanistic, person-centered, solution-focused, and mindfulness-based techniques, tailored to each client’s unique history and needs. In session, we address heavy topics with honesty, but we also laugh a lot along the way. My primary goal is for clients to feel safe sharing what works and what they need. Together, we develop effective strategies to regulate emotions, build resilience, and navigate life’s challenges in a supportive, collaborative space. I combine clinical expertise with lived experience, empathy, and a personalized approach that meets you where you are.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I help women strip away the roles they have been forced to play to keep the peace, safely guiding them back to their authentic selves. My practice specializes in holding space for the parts of womanhood and motherhood that society often minimizes, medicalizes, or misses altogether. I offer dedicated support for individuals navigating the profound identity shifts of maternal mental health—including fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, postpartum mood shifts (depression, anxiety, OCD, rage), and the unique, isolating complexities of parenting children with special needs. Beyond maternal care, I provide a deeply validating environment for women processing the ongoing grief of chronic illness, recovering from narcissistic abuse, and navigating the nuanced path of faith deconstruction and religious trauma. As a clinician with lived experience, I also offer neurodivergent-affirming care for adult ADHD that moves past textbook 'band-aid' fixes to address real-world task paralysis and sensory flooding. Because anxiety, trauma, and panic are deeply physical experiences, my therapeutic approach is somatic; I ensure your body is an active partner as we work to rebuild a strong sense of self, process grief on your own timeline, and establish actionable self-love.
