My Approach to Therapy

I have immediate availability to work with individuals and couples with a broad range of concerns, including men’s issues, relationship stressors, and work difficulties. I offer sessions in person in Bloomington, Minnesota, and online, depending on your preference. I bring focus and presence to our sessions, and I make my best effort to help you feel comfortable bringing up what’s most important to you. We’ll work together to explore insights around relationship stressors, life transitions, anxiety or depression, burnout, attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), obsessive-compulsive challenges (OCD), or substance use concerns. I use a mindfulness-based and cognitive behavioral therapy-informed (cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)-informed) approach to help you slow things down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and respond with more clarity instead of reacting on autopilot. Together, we build practical tools to shift patterns and regulate emotions. We develop clear goals to support changes in your outlook and well-being. Finding a therapist fit comes down to whether you feel understood and respected, and whether my approach makes sense to you. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and I provide a complimentary 15-minute consultation call to see if working together feels like a good fit for your needs.

Groups I Work With

I work primarily with adults and couples, with a particular interest in helping men navigate anxiety, stress, anger, relationship difficulties, substance use, and feeling stuck or overwhelmed. I also work with adults and adolescents ages 16 and up who are experiencing depression, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, and co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges. My approach is warm, collaborative, practical, and direct, with an emphasis on helping clients better understand their patterns and develop meaningful, sustainable change.
