I am an empathetic and experienced therapist with a passion for empowering my patients through an individualized approach to wellness. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland. Since graduating with my master’s in 2018, I have worked with adolescents and adults from many cultural backgrounds who have experienced homelessness, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other life stressors. I specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and I also draw from a range of other approaches because I believe therapy is most effective when it’s personalized for each person.
Hi, I’m Morgan! With compassionate, evidence-based care and a passion for helping others heal and grow, I offer a safe space to process your current challenges and experiences that may be contributing to your current symptoms.
Many people come to therapy because they are tired of surviving. They may be struggling with the effects of trauma, grief and loss, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, or life transitions that have left them feeling disconnected from themselves and others. I believe our struggles make more sense when they are understood within the context of our life experiences, relationships, and the environments that shaped us. The ways we learn to trust, protect ourselves, connect with others, and understand our worth are often influenced by experiences that occurred long before we recognized their impact. My approach is trauma-informed, attachment-based, and culturally responsive. I work with individuals, couples, and families to explore patterns that may no longer serve them, heal unresolved wounds, strengthen relationships, and build a greater sense of clarity, connection, and purpose. I integrate EMDR and other evidence-based approaches to help clients process difficult experiences while developing new ways of relating to themselves and others. Therapy is not about fixing what is broken. It is about understanding your story, recognizing your strengths, and creating space for healing, growth, and meaningful change.
Dealing with persistent relational stress? Do you struggle with poor communication patterns? Are you suffering with unmet needs? Do you make others a priority over your own needs and desires? Life feels chaotic. You experience emotions more intensely than other people, and no matter what you do, you just can’t seem to find your way out of recurrent depression, chronic anxiety, and the tumult of your quickly changing, powerful emotions. I get it. I’m passionate about helping people like you find the calm, closeness, and peace that’s been just out of reach. People don't have to be in crisis to come to therapy; oftentimes, those who contact me are managing feelings that have been building up over time. I have niche experience working with medical professionals such as physicians, nurses and medical trainees and directed a new program at UNMC aimed at understanding burnout. I enjoy working with college and graduate students, international students, and did this at counseling centers like MIT. I especially like working with adults in general, and new parents. I completed my APA internship and postdoc in the Penn System where I saw a variety of people living with a range of feelings. I believe that addressing feelings and understanding where they stem from, and how to manage them, can help people navigate life's challenges in relationships, work, school, and beyond. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental, emotionally rich and confidential environment for individuals to explore what's on their mind. Collaborating on other areas of your life that you may want to examine, such as your relationships with others (romantic, friendship, personal, professional) is something I find joy in. I look forward to meeting you and potentially working together to uncover not just what might be holding you back or keeping you up at night, but your strengths as well.
Life can feel hard at times. I believe that therapy should be a safe place to turn to when it feels important to be heard and understood. I specialize in treating adults who struggle with trauma, posttraumatic stress (PTSD), dissociation, anxiety, depression, low self-confidence, emotional instability, relationship problems, borderline personality, and grief. I have a special interest in working with emotionally sensitive individuals. I also have a strong knowledge base of Christianity. Clients I work with have goals to decrease trauma-related symptoms (e.g., flashbacks, mood swings) and feel more fulfilled. In sessions, I am down-to-earth, friendly, empathic, and nonjudgmental while paying attention to how your past and present experiences have made life feel for you. My biggest passion is empowering clients who have felt misunderstood, unseen, or mistreated in their lives, and helping them learn everyday skills to handle overwhelming emotions and situations. I have experience working in a variety of settings, including a community mental health clinic, university, inpatient psychiatric hospital, private practices, and residential treatment facility, offering both psychotherapy and assessment services. If you are feeling down, lost, or discouraged, feel free to reach out to me if you feel we may be a good fit.
