Edina is a city in Hennepin County, Minneapolis. It has a land area of 15 square miles. Edina has a population of 51,000 people. Between 2010 and 2016, the number of residents increased by 7%.

Mental Health in Edina

The Hennepin County Criminal Mental Health Court helps people with serious mental health concerns who are charged with a criminal offense. It offers a voluntary program that lasts for 12 to 18 months through which individuals may access mental health services and regain stability. There are several conditions that must be met for individuals to qualify for the program. Participants must be residents of Hennepin County (or the neighboring Ramsey County), diagnosed with a chronic mental health concern, and charged with a misdemeanor or nonviolent felony. 

The PRISM Center was founded in 2008 by the Hennepin County Criminal Mental Health Court. The facility acts as a medication dispensing site, reporting center, and social services hub for residents with mental health issues who are in the criminal justice system.
