My ideal client is someone who recognizes they want positive change in their life but isn’t sure where to begin. You may feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or even struggle to identify what you need as you start your therapy journey. Together, we create a collaborative and supportive therapeutic experience tailored to your unique goals. In sessions, I use emotional processing, tools such as the Feelings Wheel, and evidence-based psychotherapy approaches. We work to increase self-awareness, process emotions, and develop practical strategies that foster healing, growth, and meaningful, lasting change.
My philosophy is that "It takes courage to be happy. . . again." So many people will stay stuck in a life situation and before long, it starts to feel "comfortable" at least to the extent that it is either too scary or too difficult to try to make those necessary changes. Often, it takes the guidance of a trusted therapist to help one discover where, how, and why a person is stuck, to point out distorted thinking, and to help map a plan for progress towards a goal. Being in the field since 1985 creates my philosophy and approach. In addition to in-office counseling, I am also available to do online video counseling to anyone throughout the state of florida. I hold a Distance Counseling Certification. Let's begin the journey, together.
I integrate evidence-based modalities with a strengths-based, client-centered approach to meet clients' unique needs and because I believe every person has the capacity for healing and growth within them. I’m committed to empowering individuals to determine their own path while supporting them with tools that foster confidence and resilience. I focus on helping you tap into your own strengths and inner wisdom to support meaningful growth. Our work together will be collaborative, and I believe therapy extends beyond our sessions. I provide practical strategies and skills for you to integrate into your daily life, ensuring that your progress continues between appointments. My path to becoming a therapist began in the classroom as a teacher, where I learned that students thrive both academically and personally when their emotional needs are supported. That experience continues to inform my belief in the importance of compassion, connection, and seeing the whole person to help with healing and growth.
More than just an intellectual endeavor, counseling is a special experience. It is a place where you can begin to enrich your own understanding and perspective. When that happens, the nature of your problems begins to change, appearing more as solutions in disguise. When you agree on the ideas or tools that are helpful, you can try them in day-to-day life and see for yourself how they work. This tends to further reinforce the desire to improve. The process itself is an exploration that can be as interesting as it is emotionally rewarding. My specialty is to closely listen to my clients and acknowledge where they want to be as people. My job is to translate their ideas and feelings into opportunities. The next step is to determine what adjustments will bring about the desired goals. I combine compassion with knowledge to foster a therapeutic experience that is supportive and of practical benefit in daily living.
Have you spent your life feeling like an outsider? Maybe you've been judged, misunderstood, or made to feel like you don't belong. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and I specialize in working with people who have been marginalized, especially LGBTQ+ individuals, trauma survivors, and others who've had to fight harder just to exist. I have a deep love and respect for people who have survived lives that asked them to fight harder just to exist. I also specialize in music industry professionals, bringing in my own experience. Music was my first career! Together, we'll help you heal, reconnect with yourself, and build a life that feels authentic to you. I don’t want therapy to feel cold and clinical. I aim to create a space that feels comfortable and safe enough for deep introspection and healing. I do my best to help you be your most vulnerable, whatever that looks like. Together, we’ll laugh, cry, and experience breakthrough moments that will help you reach the life you want for yourself. I offer virtual sessions so therapy fits your life: no gas usage, no commute, no waiting room, just meaningful work from the comfort of your own space. Research confirms telehealth is just as effective as in-person therapy, and that includes therapies such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Let's talk! Call or email me for a free 15-minute consultation!
In my years of specializing in trauma and abuse, I have found that the most successful individuals often feel the most isolated by their experiences. My philosophy is simple: You should not have to choose between your professional excellence and your personal healing. I believe that a traumatic event—whether it be a single crisis, a history of abuse, or a profound loss—is an extraordinary experience that requires a specialized, clinical response to become "normal." My approach is to meet you at the intersection of your high-functioning life and your most difficult moments. By combining the structure of grief recovery with the depth of hypnotherapy and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), we create a space where your history can be processed with dignity, discretion, and profound expertise. Healing is the ultimate high-performance act. You are used to being the most capable person in the room, but trauma does not respond to willpower. If a crisis, loss, or history of abuse has begun to compromise your focus and well-being, you need more than just "talk therapy." I provide a sophisticated, clinical approach to help high-achievers normalize and integrate traumatic events. With a Ph.D in Counseling Education and Supervision, I specialize in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), hypnotherapy, and grief loss recovery. My expertise covers the spectrum of trauma—including intimate partner violence (IPV), domestic violence, and abuse—offering a discreet, expert-level space to stabilize your nervous system and reclaim your edge. Let's move past "coping," and get back to operating at your full potential.
My passion is helping those who are feeling disconnected from themselves and others. I work with clients dealing with low self-worth or self-esteem, depression, anxiety, compulsive & addictive behaviors, trauma, social isolation & disconnection, spiritual & existential issues, couples & relational issues, and much more. I love helping people connect the dots of their personal stories to why they think, feel, and behave the way they do, then move with them toward restoration, healing, and a more congruent and fulfilling life. I use an integrative approach to address the health and wellness of the whole person. I have been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR). It would be my honor to come alongside you to help you unpack and reclaim even the most difficult parts of your story. Please reach out to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if I'm the right fit to help.
We offer solutions that are easy to learn and master. We aim to serve as a teacher, interactively offering you the tools and skills you need to become your own counselor. We're more than just listeners; we're also talkers who present you ways to retain the things you've learned. We believe in short-term counseling that offers a lifetime of results.
Children and teens do not always have the words to explain what they are feeling, and sometimes their behavior communicates what they cannot yet say. My approach is warm, patient, and tailored to each young person’s age, personality, and needs. I focus on creating a comfortable space where children and teens can express themselves without feeling judged or pressured. Together, we work on understanding emotions, building coping skills, improving communication, and developing greater confidence. I also recognize how important parents and caregivers are in this process. When appropriate, I offer guidance and support that helps families better understand what their child may be experiencing and how to encourage progress outside of sessions. Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, emotional regulation, self-esteem, life changes, relationships, or feeling overwhelmed, we can begin by helping them feel safe, seen, and understood.
Welcome, I’m Sam Moglen, a licensed marriage and family therapist providing therapy for individuals throughout California and Florida via online sessions. Whether you’re struggling with grief, anxiety, depression, or relationship challenges, therapy can help you find clarity and feel more connected to yourself and those around you. I am trained in a range of modalities, including eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), the Rest and Restore Protocol, the Safe and Sound Protocol, polyvagal theory, and somatic therapy approaches in a way that feels safe and comfortable for you. Our first meeting is really about starting a conversation. I’ll invite you to share what brought you in, what you hope to get out of therapy, and a bit of your background. Just as important, you’ll get a feel for my style and whether it feels like a good fit for you. Think of it less as an interview and more as a chance to begin building a safe and supportive connection. I believe therapy offers something rare in daily life: a space to slow down, reflect, and connect more deeply with yourself. Whether you’re facing grief, anxiety, or relational challenges, I consider it an honor to accompany people through difficult seasons and witness their growth.
