Dion holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University, Chico, and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University. She has completed specialized training in internal family systems (IFS) and emotionally focused therapy (EFT), approaches that inform her relational, attachment-based, and insight-oriented work with clients. Dion has worked in community mental health, as well as the nonprofit sector, where she supported individuals navigating complex emotional and relational challenges. She specializes in women’s health, with a special passion for those navigating infertility, birth trauma, perinatal mood and anxiety challenges (PMADs), pregnancy and infant loss, and the emotional weight of self-criticism and perfectionism. Dion is currently pursuing her Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C). Many of her clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by life transitions, relationship challenges, people-pleasing patterns, or the quiet grief that can accompany reproductive struggles. She believes women deserve meaningful support during these experiences, especially in a culture that often encourages them to move on, stay strong, or simply try again. Dion intentionally creates a space where women can slow down, process their experiences fully, and feel deeply understood in ways they may not have previously experienced. Her therapeutic style is direct, compassionate, and collaborative. She integrates thoughtful humor with deeper emotional exploration, helping clients understand how past experiences shape current emotional patterns and relationships. Through this work, clients develop greater self-compassion, clarity, and a stronger connection to themselves. Dion’s goal is to help clients heal past wounds, understand themselves more fully, and move forward into new chapters of life feeling more grounded, whole, and connected to who they are becoming. Dion currently lives in Spain with her husband, their two dogs, and two cats. Outside of therapy, she enjoys reading romance novels, traveling, working out, and prioritizing her own personal growth through therapy.
Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or alone? Struggling with self-esteem, relationships, or finding motivation? You don’t have to navigate it all on your own. I work primarily with adults and couples who are looking for a space to slow down, feel heard, and better understand themselves and their relationships. Together, we’ll explore your experiences with curiosity and care, helping you make sense of patterns, build insight, and develop tools that support real, lasting change. My approach integrates psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral (CBT) therapies, allowing us to both understand the deeper roots of your challenges and develop practical strategies to navigate them in your day-to-day life. I strive to create a warm, collaborative environment where you can show up as you are and feel supported throughout the process. Whether you're going through a difficult period or wanting to grow in new ways, therapy can help you reconnect with your strengths and move forward with more clarity and confidence. If this resonates with you, I invite you to reach out for a free phone consultation.
Therapy is an investment of time and energy towards self-awareness and transformation, creating balance and harmony, while instilling hope, and self-acceptance. In my work with individuals, the most common areas of focus involve relationship or self-esteem issues, depression, anxiety, abuse, or those with self-defeating behavioral patterns. Separation, divorce and child custody can be a painful process for parents as well as children. I offer a safe, supportive and nurturing environment to cope with these challenges together while seeking the appropriate tools unique to your situation to facilitate conflict resolution and positive co-parenting. I specialize in helping individuals andor family members who have developmental disabilities and feel powerless to overcome behavioral and social issues. I have 20 years of experience working with children and adults with high function autism in a facility setting. I understand the challenges and I can help. I utilize an eclectic therapeutic approach, drawing from a myriad of psychological therapies and modalities to create a unique client-centered design. As humans, we share many experiences, life events, traumas, challenges, and victories, yet we are all very exceptional individuals in need of understanding, empathy, respect, and acceptance.
What kind of dystopian hellscape is this? A world that insists everything is fine while quietly unraveling. Welcome. You might belong here. Your brain runs like a browser with too many tabs open. Thoughts move fast. Environments overwhelm. Social rules feel unclear. You care deeply, think intensely, and sometimes wish you could just turn it all off and breathe. Your nervous system stays alert. You catch tone shifts, subtext, and dynamics others miss. Conversations get rehearsed and replayed. You move between craving connection and needing space. You show up for others while wondering if anyone truly sees you. If you have ever felt like you do not fit, it may be because the mold was never built for you. Neurodivergent. Anxious. LGBTQIA+. Creative. Empathic. Complex. You belong here. I work with people who experience life at a deeper level. Those who feel everything quickly and are done shrinking to stay comfortable for others. Here, your sensitivity is not a problem to fix. Your identity does not need explaining. You get to exist as you are. My approach blends evidence-based therapy with intuitive attunement. We honor your nervous system, your lived experience, and your story. Together, we explore what you have been carrying alone. We make space for the parts of you that have been masked or misunderstood. Anxiety does not get to run the whole show. We build something that actually feels like your life. You do not have to translate yourself here. Too much becomes exactly right. You are not lost. You are not alone. I will be here. Try not to overthink your way out of showing up.

I have been working as a clinical social worker and therapist for over 40 years. I approach working with clients by thinking about how I would want to be treated and what I would want from a therapist. I believe that healing CAN happen and that it can be done in a gentle way. The two models that I primarily use, EMDR and the Trauma Resiliency Model are very client centered. The premise of both models is that we each have the intrinsic ability to heal. We just need the right guide. My focus is on teaching clients practical skills that can help them day to day in managing their life as well as treating the underlying issues that are causing their present distress. I work together with the client to develop the individualized plan of care that works the best for them.
Reaching out to a therapist can be a difficult step to take. I know the profound pain that can come when dealing with mental health challenges, including addiction...yours, or as a family member affected by another person's addictive behaviors. I understand how traumatic it feels to grow up with an addicted or emotionally immature parent, or how it feels to be in an unhealthy relationship. These experiences can lead to devastating feelings - shame, abandonment, depression, anxiety, isolation, anger, & much more. I invite you to share your feelings in a safe & nonjudgmental space where you can feel understood & heard. It is important to explore the past & how your attachment to your people has shaped your approach to life. I work with all types of trauma, including complex, relational & developmental trauma, sexual abuse, & traumatic grief. I integrate EMDR Therapy, Mindfulness, and other modalities, to assist you with healing your pain so you can live a fulfilling life. I would like to guide you toward uncovering your inner resources & collaborate with you on identifying thoughtful, solution-focused, strength based interventions. Through this work, I will help you make sense of the past and recognize unhealthy patterns so you can move toward creating a more balanced, inspired & soul-centered life for yourself, leading you to find your joy.
